The creator (Soren Johnson) had a bit of a challenge with this tutorial too.
Tigershawk
Didn't even know we could use WASD. I learned the shift key selling from Soren's videos. Is there a list of keys somewhere?
Great game. Thanks for providing this labor of love. From here on out, please take our feedback as ideas to make what we like even better. Good job.
Scrapping a building should free up a claim. I had to do that quite a bit on the scientific tutorial.
Maybe some kind of a filter system might be nice to perhaps highlight things I should really care about, like someone EMP'ing one of my buildings, vs. Ms. Research upgrading to level 3. Maybe make it configurable. I'd like the text for things I really care about to be big and center, the same as when someone buys my stock.
I bought it here, and the key was in my account, about an hour before it went live on Steam. I was able to download right at 1:00pm EST. Just finished, since my connection is only about 1Mbs.
I was able to play the tutorial #1 with my 3120m i3 processor. Its an HD4000 graphics processor. Was a lot smoother on graphics mode Medium. My native resolution is 1366x768. Back to it now.
10% discount currently available on Steam until Feb. 19, so you can still get in on the pre-order price apparently.
Current download size is 406.2MB
Ruh Oh, I have preordered with intel HD4000. Hopefully I can muddle through.
Very nice. Thanks. I'll try to remember to update with the official size while I'm downloading.
Anyone who got the proto remember how large a steam download OTC is?
In another thread, it was stated around 1:00, which for my time zone will be right when the countdown timer is done, so it shouldn't be too long after release, if not right to the minute.
From what I've seen, they made a pretty robust and personality strong AI.
This link, an announcement, says its going up to $40. https://forums.offworldgame.com/460868/page/1/
I know what you're saying QKunisaki. For me, this is so different, and I'm a sucker for economic games when they're fun (which is rare), so this game really had the hook that hooked me. I was willing to pay a little more than I normally would, and it was discounted during the pre-order, which made the purchase more urgent.
From the posts I've seen, including this one: https://forums.offworldgame.com/460877/page/1/ It appears that this is at the level of beta, meaning things work pretty well, and the core gameplay is where it should be. Graphics and sound are supposed to be getting updates, maybe some UI tweaks, and faction re-balancing as needed. On the side, I think they're in the infancy on team games right now, although
So, given that, I'm starting to think that the countdown timer may be the start of it available on Steam, and then sometime later in the afternoon the keys will be available on our account. Is that accurate? I'm trying to picture whether its an automated process, or if there is some Stardock person requesting keys from Steam one account at a time when it becomes available on Steam.
My assumption has been so far, that the keys should appear in our Stardock account around the time the countdown clock on the website expires. That's 1:00 Thurs. for me in the USA eastern timezone. Here is the statement in another thread when I asked that question: Your key should appear on your store downloads page once it is available. You should get an email too, but it can take a while for them to all go
Here is what my account screen looks like, just so you know what to look for: <img src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAsIAAAD/CAIAAAB0CyfUAAAgAElEQVR4nO2dfXQUVZ73Ofso4T2oM77gzqyOrrszu+2sZo/OM57loLvn7MxxWMekSSCQhNeABkFhCB0Yx8d1JCALA9EmxcgQCBAxkKQJDSG8CDpAR8eAi2KYyTQKAcJLQxpaitfkPn/c5Oamqrr6prrTXRe/n/M9nMrtW/feur+mf9+6VdXda+DwhRAE9bieL4KMlfDQQBAUhXolfAQQ9G3QoOffhgyV8NBAEBSNYCMgKB4a9Pw7kKESHhoIgqIRbAQExUODUt2QoRIeGgiCohFsBATFQ4NSl0GGSnhoIAiKRrAREBQPDUpbBhkq
Its mars, so an alien HQ and alien artifact type patents. Your terraforming idea might work towards a set of missions or campaign.
I'm watching the videos, meaning no actual play time, but I would say it leans more heavily toward making an interesting game than practicing hard science. I would say its not even hard economics, but, that might not be a bad thing for making a fun game. Think back to the game MULE, for instance. There were some things that probably weren't realistic, but yet it still introduced some educational concepts, even if they were flawed if you looked too deeply. I w
By the above rules, does that mean for Robotic colonies, Electronics will be bought on credit and Water/Food/Oxygen/Fuel will not? That is an important thing to realize - that the SOURCE of the demand for a resource matters on whether it's auto-bought (with debt). I need fuel to make chemicals and oxygen to make glass, but even if I set those to Auto Supply, it will only purchase them with actual $, but when my colony needs
That's a good strategy, because it leverages the selective way that debt is applied in game, at least the way I think its applied. I still don't understand why you can go into debt for all kinds of life support/power resources, but you're not allowed to go into debt if you hit the buy button. Am I watching the videos right on this? It appears that you're "locked out" on going into debt to buy steel, but you can amass all kinds of debt for food and energy, as
Does this mean I will get to play it today since I purchased it on a Monday?
No King. The post you're replying to, posted in 2014, was about the prototype version of the game. That is no longer available, and now there is a pre-order in effect for a version labeled as early access. That will become available Feb. 12, 2015, as far as we know. I don't work for Mohawk, so I'm assuming th
