I like this approach. I'm also intrigued by the fact that we will need to deal with citizens who have different ideologies.
Yes. Real life is not all unicorns and rainbows. Real life is a mixture of beliefs and actions and often not fair and balanced.. This is why I like there B5 approach.
Am really digging this concept. However... Will certain technologies and/or ideology perks increase the number of Colonies we can feed to a Core World without sparking rebellion? As otherwise, I would imagine that late-game empires on larger maps might still have a lot of Core Worlds to micro-manage.
My guess is Ideology/Gov. Types will have a big say.<
My wish is they magically finish IV by July. Now back to reality.
More synthetic species? There have been 3 games of galciv 3 where the only synthetic species has been the exterminate all life kind. I think its time for something new. My idea is that there was this species that nearly got whipped out by a plague. In order to deal with the shortages in the work place, the species started developing machines to replace them. Over time they got smarter and more complex until they became a sapient
I find it helps to look at an organism sences and see what orther ways they could have evolved. Smell air presure for avian life forms See heat or radiation (work on a different area of energy wavelenghs0 Touch is measured by vibrations for rock people Taste could tell the makeup of the air so flying creaturs do not try to fly in space. High presure Jelly life forms for some planets
I like changelinks like Odo in Deep Space 9. Think of the intl he/she/it coeatuld get. 99% of the time they would look like a puddle. Another could be silicon based life that eats rock. Like an old StarTrek episode. Even anothe could be energy based life that moves form computer to computer like a virus.
Yes; This will add lots of uniquess for what govenors doing what jobs where they are placed and keeping them happy.
From listening to his interview I would say no. He talked about a single tech tree idea that is wide and tall and one has to have the pre-requists to use any tech. Not just a single races tech. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtZO87Cr9-4
How about adjancency bonuses depending on what buildings are on what type of landscape.
You could put a script in the Civilization govenor to raise taxes as much as psible untill the moral goes below 90%. There would also have to be a togle in the options so one can do it themselves if they want to.
It seems we will have to go with the Dev Journals
My guess is the economy is to unstable to predict acuratly and they do not want to charge to little or to much. Maybe IV alphas can get some sort of discount on DLCs and Expansion packs.
Bottom of wishlist page or go through the forum on sign up. being in the Alpha is a wish. Hahaha
I think I found my problem. While loading all the civs i have it crashed.
Played with it and it still crashes on setting up players when building the map.
What I have done is download Wine and Wine tricks. then use wine trick to download what ever I thought would help graphics. I also downloaded Steam and set it up. After that I went into the steam play tab and checked all and changed to plasma 3.7 You should be able to install GCIII now Last so far I changed the screen size in the game menu options to 1440x960. It was 1920 but will try lower res. I have gotten as far as a quick start loading and briefly
I propose it get tweaked so on surrender part of the planets and HW go to you on surrender and the others go rogue. The percentage would vary depending on relations of the two. The rogue ones would take time and resources to conquer/flip. In effect slowing you down.
I wonder if influence affecting that world would also have an impact.
screen shots of the msgs. Permissions sound right. I have made the UAC to lowest then restarted the computer and ran steam then GC3. After rebooting again I still get the first time install msg and DX. Could the Windows 10 DX be blocking the install. It has Defender and Windows firewall on. Would turning them off for the install solve this prob.
Starbases and planets as mentioned in the previous post.
Cant get pics 1st the UAC askes if it is ok to run the program. No prob there if I lower the UAC to the min. 2nd I get a popup for first time run and DX is installed. This happens each time. The Game plays fine and the time to rinstall the DX is neglegable
I put Steam in offline and then restarted the computer. It still asks to install dx. Could my UAC be causing probs. I have it at the default setting.
Why a I getting this now on My W10 setup.
My guess is to run the re-sync command on the main menu screen or try deleting the pref ini.
