The bugginess is due to the fact that MS dispensed with the team that tested the updates on a variety of systems. [/quote] Why pay for testers. They have Windows 10 auto updating to test. One

We talked about this in alpha and the decision was no z. 3d thought takes more thought then 2d thought. Not everyone can follow it.
What about sfc/scannow With all you have done I would think your windows is messed up.
Here is a pic of what I was talking about.
It did and is off to the races.
this started with my custom race in 3.95
I also like to use a debit card. That way you do not spend what you do not have.
Like B5 small ships would need them but big ships make their own so in late game an invasion could bypass CPs.
In my reading I find that distance form the center to the outside is more even so distance is the same. In a square map the distance form the center to the corner is greater then the distance from the center to the mid of a side.
SOTS II was also 3d. I liked the extra thought I had to use to visualize stuff; but lets face it. Most people understand/like 2d maps. An in between could be virtual diplomacy so one feels like they are in the room dealing with dif races. To help de-clutter maps one could make them like GIS maps so every thing is not shown all the time.
You can try to verify the game in properties/Local files and/or post the debug.
I find my self wanting to destroy all the ships at an enemy hypergate but not the hypergate itself. Is there a way to untarget specific items/ships in the pre-battle screen. (Cancel, quick, watch) Then capture the hyper just like you capture a planet.
Diplomacy and some sort of VR integration along with Steam integration. The game needs to be more immersive and engaging; not just more. Doing this would make the specs i7 quad core, and DX 12 and of course 64 bit.
The debug makes me think a race and the tech tree do not play nice.
First thought is what did the error say and when. That is not much to go on. dxdiag, crash report, something so we can pin where the problem occurs. After I thought that I thought your video is not being recognized by the exe so maybe cleaning the system and updating drivers will set the links correct.
Thankyou
But it is still relevant. I already want to get a 9th gen CPU and 32 RAM using a RAID0 of SSDs
video card question for GCIII Do I want the card to provide more speed. ex RTX 2070 instead of a RTX 2070 MaxQ or is it more important to have the amount of vram up there. a 2070 with 8 gigs vs a 2060 with 6 gigs. If I was dripping in money I would want both but real life says spend wisely.
I have notice that ai spies go after ship building improvements. What about the societies that that is not so much a priority. Maybe you could make spies target civs improvements by their traits,Govt type and ideology. I would think spies would like to kill ship building but if you target food and entertainment then you cause unrest that must be dealt with or rebellion. Spies like to use the back door instead of the front door.
No. I suggest watching the lets play stuff on Youtube.
Depending on how much is already built in it could be moderately time consuming all the way to pull your hair out.
Over the years I have notice you adding more and more to make it more fun. Some of the most fun games are simple. I propose you add check boxes to the set-up so one can not have all the stuff in a game. ie one can turn of things like artifacts, hyper lanes, even citizens, etc. This way one can make the complexity of the game to their fun level. If they think it is fun then sales go up.
The best solution I have found is to use the way points to make links to places you will want to revisit.
To use the existing structure require a tech in the third age and charge resource(s) for each legion put back in the pool.
I use GRM 8.5 but the Techdefs were changed and I do not think GRM changes that. Did a verify in-case.
