Thanks Jafo Hmmm. A stickie for rip reports. Doesn't sound bad at all
Apocalypse_67
I thought I use this thread to inform another rip on the Logon library. 'Flow of the falls' https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=26&SkinID=2420 is a rip of Hawk's wallpaper 'Waterfall' along with some buttons from my 'Misplaced' Logon.
Blue is a more standard color and the majority of people think it has more appeal, that is why you see so many of them. If you look at the pink and purple skins you'll notice they have low download counts, maybe that is why authors dont make many of them.
WOM. I do like to type, it helps my writing skills Wstaylor, the personal opinion expressed by those who don’t like or are tired of seen windows logo wallpapers are their opinion alone and there is no sense in seeking the logic behind why they don’t like it. Same goes with Bryce, Apple glass/gel effect o
You have to understand that the standard and opinions on which the moderators base the acceptance of a design is not shared by the many people that visit and download the designs. Just because moderators find a design good enough to make it public does not means that everyone is going to like it. Just like webgizmo said, you are free to make any and all of the designs you want, just learn to accept the outcome of acceptance or rejection by the viewing public.
Exactly my point Styl. BTW, I was with you on the bet, so cough up my share
You can get a registered domain name and hosting for about $40 a year. There are many hosts with different prices out there. The one I took as an example is Geocities from Yahoo http://geocities.yahoo.com/home/ But even at $40.00 USD a year, you still gonna have to design/create the web site/pages and then how many people will actually
We are customizing the Operating System. Which means we take what is there and turn it into something else. Wallpapers (as much as I enjoy making them) doesnt really customize anything other than having a background on the desktop as oppose to a solid color. Windows is a system not a logo or symbol.
A good place to start is by reading the SysMetrix Documentation that comes with the program. It gives you a run down of the settings and how the images work.
As some have stated. It's not really an issue of 'hating' the logo but the over use of it. It's like having soup everyday, eventually, you'll get bored of it.
Very organized site. Nice information board. I like it a lot. I'll be checking it frequently
Well said Brad. I wonder if he had these same concerns about us artists getting 'screwed' while he was downloading our work.
@ WOM. I think you should WOM /me still awaits for the day on which WOM uploads something
Latin4567, for the past couple of days we have all heard you rambling about your designs, your downloads, your ratings, etc. You have spammed and flooded threads with somewhat useless posts. Most of your uploaded work has been commented by you alone. You need to learn patience and let people comment good or bad on their own and not because you ask them to. You seem to strive for attention and honestly, it is not a good task to practice in a forum community as the result will lead to
If you had StyleXP before installing WindowBlinds, you most likely screwed your self. StyleXP hacks and replaces some .dll files. If you are runing XP try to restore to the point before you installed StyleXP and try installing WB again. If you are runing Win 98-2000, back up all your needed files/documents and take this as a good oportunity to format your hard drive If you get to solve the problem t
Ditto Styl. BTW. Can I go with you on that bet? I wanna make some money
Ahatfield, No, we (the artists) do not get any type of monetary compensation from WC or Stardock. We upload/share our work for free and out of the goodness of our hearts and it is also our own decision to share our work. But just to educate you on how this works for me (as it does for many others) If I was to look for a space in the net to upload my work I would have to shell about $10.00 a month (for a really cheap host) and that will get me a domain name, some 50Mb of storage and some 20Gb
Thank you WOM. You have always been one to complement my work with much insight and constructive comments. Thank you also for keeping my girl in your prayer, it seems to be working. She is doing much better. Hopefully she'll be home soon Thank you Solid and congrats on your mark Thanks XX <img src="http://images
@ Kaila Thank you for the comment and the emoticon. It got me LMAO
As mentioned, walls and screenshots are the only 2 sections of the library that can be rated 'on the fly' since they don’t need to be run by a program to test how they work. The rest of the skins MUST be downloaded, installed and tested before any type of comment or rating can be awarded. I read a lot of 'This sucks' or 'This is crap' by people that I can bet my life have not downloaded (or even have the program to run the skin) but yet they feel that they have the expertise to make such
Thankx EH. Indeed I have come a long way from just walls and it has been a fun trip Essencay, just make sure the host is not looking when you do that.
Thank you all for all the support Andreas, I'm trying to cantact Jafo to see if we can hold the party at his house NightTrain, this one deserves a double round <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles
As of this morning I have joined the Million Club by reaching the 1,000,000 download mark. I just want to thank all those that found my work interesting enough to download and also thank all those artists that helped me along the way and those that offered much inspiration thru their wonderful work. And much thanks to WinCustomize for providing a space for me to share my work. And a special thanks to my girl SilverBird for the never-ending inspiration and for pushing me to do better.
Ditto to the entire thread, specially the part about more comments. Good or bad, they are always helpful in future projects and improvement of recent ones. As Paxx said, be constructive not destructive. Thank you Macrobaye for the well put post.
