It looks like you're missing a required DirectX file. You should try getting the latest version of DirectX 9 from Microsoft and install that. Grab the DX Web installer here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&DisplayLang=en
What about "Relent"?
What about it? If you're refering to the Master Skin by brewman, that's something else. This thread is about the GUI Champs.
To those submitting their skins between Nov 27th and Dec 1st, Stardock's offices are closed due to the Thanksgiving holiday. As we will all be spending time with friends and family for the long weekend, skin moderation for the GUI Champs will be on-hold until we return. You can still submit any skin you have ready to upload, just know that it won't be looked at by moderation until December 1st when we return to the office. I went through the queue this morning and
It could be clearer that being logged in is a requirement to vote (i.e. we could refuse to display any skins on the vote page and just have a giant login box instead), we'll look to address that before voting begins on the Icons & WindowBlinds skins. But logging in will remain a requirement. It's to prevent vote tampering/stuffing
The voting process is confusing to say the least. Actually it sucks. Not worth the effort.
Thank you for your well thought-out and constructive critique of the GUI Champs voting system. Could you take a moment to explain exactly how it's confusing? What could be explained better? How could we improve it?
Proper spelling and punctuation are important if you want to be understood by others. If your spelling/punctuation is so bad that people can't understand what you're typing, you're probably not going to get any response (or at least no useful response). SMS talk, leet-speak etc hurt your ability to communicate. We're not incredibly anal about any of it, but we do encourage proper use.
The first event of the 2008 GUI Championships is officially underway! Today we begin the popular vote phase of the Most Usable and Most Original Animated Wallpapers (Dreams). Over the weekend, the judges reviewed all of the submitted Dreams (32 of them!) and cast their votes for what they thought were the most usable and the most original Dreams. Based on their votes, below are the ten finalists for the two events. You can see Brad Wardell's scores and commen

Nothing specific to TeaTimer that I've heard of. If you hit the error again with AVG off, just go through your security apps one by one to find the offender.
I had the same error when downloading 1.1, "File size smaller than expected" something like that anyway, I just ran to the laundramat, had it in about 15 minutes. The owner was ticked when he found me in the building at 1:30 though
This is usually caused by antivirus/antispyware software scanning the file as it's downloaded from our servers. These programs can lock the download file, causing this error.&nb
USSENTERNCC1701E - I'm glad that despite the initial frustrations and profanity you found some use in Impulse. It seems like folks get so hung up on the concept that they never give it a real, honest try. If you're willing to stick around on these forums, I encourage you to make suggestions for improvements. We read these forums every day and take feedback very seriously. On the issue of piracy being theft vs not... You're moving into a gray area to try and j
Make sure you're not using Flash 10. There is a bug between our uploader and the latest version of Flash.
The Team Skins issue is resolved. Thanks for bringing it to my attention Zoomba. Teams with single users and Skinhit's icon pack should appear now. -Bara
Dang it! You were supposed to leave that bug in for at least 3 more days! ;-)
Skinhit - We're looking into it. It does not effect the individual events so no one is going to miss out on getting voted on/counted in next week's judging. It's on the list for the abbreviated Thanksgiving week.
We were testing something right when you tried to update. It should be fine now.
We actually updated the Desktop Collage dream just today! https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=441&libid=50 To make sure you have the most recent download link, go to https://www.stardock.com/support/ and fill in your email address to have your list of product registrations and download links mailed to you.
Tonight at 11:59pm EST we will be closing the doors on submissions for Most Usable and Most Original Dreams. After this point, and until user voting ends on these events on November 30th, you will not be able to upload new dreams, or edit existing ones on the site. So if you have any last minute work to do, you better submit it soon! Judging will take place over the weekend, and user voting will open on Tuesday, November 25th! Good Luck!
Zoomba, it's me Dark-Star! Good review, btw. I own an ASUS Radeon HD 4870 (512MB version) and I LOVE IT. Best card I've ever owned and it was well worth it. I play GRID a lot and the game runs all details on, 1920x1200 full 8xFSAA @ 80+fps. Most of my games I'm able to run at full details at 1920x1200. Only Crysis slow down at full detail, but if I take the detail level to HIGH the game is back to 60+ fps. Here are my stats in case others car
How does this compare to a signal card Nvida 9800?
I don't have a 9800 to compare it to. At work I was using an nVidia 8800GT 256MB card, and the Radeon leaves it in the dust.
The graphics card world has long been dominated by two companies; nVidia and ATI/AMD. The battle over the last ten years has played out like a constant tug-of-war with one side gaining brief dominance over the other. This generation, ATI looks to have the upper hand with their HD 48xx series of cards. If you take a winning spot in the 2008 GUI Championships , there’s a very good chance you’ll find yourself with one of these
IMPORTANT: Today's update is ENGLISH ONLY. The French and German versions are still undergoing testing and will be made available at a later date.
We're looking into the issues right now.
He has to be kidding, I don't know anyone who would call top-tier gaming graphics cards, major graphics software or a freaking WACOM CINTIQ tablet bad prizes/
