Hey everyone, I think something needs to be put in place to offer an advantage to those who only pick one class of magic. For example, if someone where to only pick the Fire Elemental book. Well perhaps get a research bonus? Or rather, if you pick all the elemental books, you get a spell research penalty? For example: 4 Books // No Bonus to Arcane Production // AND/OR // +15% Spell Research Cost 3 Books // +5% Arcane Production // AND/OR // +10% Spell Research

This isn't a suggestion, is it? And I'm really puzzled, in my game it's raining ressources. Well ok it's in clusters, but not that much 'emptyness'. I was able to get 3 gold mines before turn 100. And this is on a medium map. This is without the tech that unlock goldmines. Maybe your map had an issue when seeded. Better luck next time! Cheers, V PS: Makes me think of Civ games where you just... couldn't... get... iron... D:

I'm afraid that this whole "let's make MP different" will just make Elemental a multi-headed dragon for them to deal with. It basically means the team will have to debug/support 2 games. Maybe not on the engine level, but on tweak and balancing. I think they made it worse for themselves.

If by that you mean: Elemental has spells, heroes, city building, magical items & dungeons. Well that's not looking too deeply into things. I mean the spells are so bland, please. How epic is it that the spell of "making" is 20 Mana to cast... 20... For those

[quote who="Kargaxe" reply="9" id="2754774"]I'd go for an independant stat for mana regen, i.e. how it is now. And your suggestion is a semi 'cheat' if anything.

[quote who="vashtyphoon" reply="8" id="2754744"]Tying Mana regen to INT would not be too good either. Since it's the same stat that increases the power of the spells it would mean more powerful spells, more often, and power multiplied by Shards, if they ever work. If it is indeed a randomly used synonym for essence, that would mark the death of essence as a potential major differentiator for Elemental's magic system. Not to mention serious dama

Ok, This thing just made me fell off my chair. The spell of making costs... 20 Mana to cast... :( :O :S What? This is completely ridiculous. Again, taking MOM as a reference I think the Spell of Mastery was more than 1000 mana points to cast and could take very long to cast if you didnt' spend enough points in your casting skill. (skill that determined how much mana/turn you c
