Yeah, my personal tradeoff, as I listed, is Blade of the Serpent. It is obviously less sturdy than a blood of the fallen based DG, but pretty much takes care of all your mana problems. Spoozing someone, and thenhitting the blade will refill your mana completely, probably enough so that when you get the second spit it fills back up again. I would say level 5 is about the only time I feel the Ooze build has greater staying power, at least compared to my own build. I still do

The only advantage you have is with AoE, as you can kill/tag an entire group and then not have to worry about where you are standing. This is one reason that TB tends to level a little bit better than other DG's.

So you are suggesting that without inner beast people will be too fast for me, and they'll run before I can kill them? Two main points here: If the enemies greatest advantage, is that they can run away after I beat the tar out of them, I can live with that, so long as I am generally the one doing the beating. I get 1 point in diseased claws, which is more effective than 1 point in inner beast, meaning Until at least level 5 I can keep up w

Actually regabond, I think this is more of a solution for the first problem you mention. Because the winning team will smoothly go up in creep power as warscore raises, so will the losing team end up having more gold and xp because of it, so while the winning team doesn't have to spend 6k for giants at warscore 10, the losing team probably has that much more gold because of the earlier gotten priests and angels. I think this actually may be a very important change to DG, because it gi

There are two main problems: 1) Sometimes people don't quit after they 'die a lot'. Some people quit after maybe their second death in game, and bitching about it to all their friends. This may be 5 or more minutes into it, and turn a reasonable game into something unwinnable. 2) Sometimes people have client side connection problems. Their network kicks out for 10 seconds, and they get disconnected. It'd be nice if this always happened in the first minute or two of

I agree with transitive, I think there is a possibility yet untapped for a 'consumable' based itemization. A few key items, but instead of jumping up to the 3k or 4k purchases, just supplementing what you have with consumeables sounds like a pretty interesting way to go. I haven't really tried it yet, but it may be worth considering.
Oh yes. Let's turn all upgrades into "AH BUY AS SOON AS AFFORDABLE". That will totally increase the depth of the game. Awesomecookies.
Thing is, they are currently 'do not buy them ever' upgrades. In fact, at the moment, the number of upgrades that are 'worth it' is really small, mainly because later upgrades tend to have diminishing returns, but greater costs. The only real exception to this is catapults, where the upg

Demigod has significantly more care in a lot of its areas, where Dota can't keep up due to it being 'just a mod': Multiple maps, that are, let's be honest, BEAUTIFUL. I mean, prison is probably the most bleak, but makes up for it by having the battleground on top of a huge demons face. Each Demigod is truly unique, both visually, and mechanically. You never sit there and think 'well, Queen is just a weak version of Oak' or something like that. Neutral Portals/Fla

So, right now there is a growing linearity of opinions on creep upgrades, mainly that angels and priests are pretty much not worth buying, and only serve as a way to inflate the cost of catapults. I think I have a pretty cool solution to this. As it is right now, we have a citadel upgrade that unlocks the new type of unit. I would change it so that you ALWAYS get more troops at the noted warscore ranks, of the appropriate kind, and that the upgrades you buy specifically for th

So, yeah, the original poster is correct. Buying priests early pretty much just doubles the gold/exp that the enemy gets per wave, almost guarenteeing they end up 2 to 3 levels above your own team. The added stability of priests in a wave is kinda nice, but against many demigods who can easily kill creeps (TB, Beast, Reg, Queen) it is just feeding the enemy.

Potions can be good stop gaps for certain builds. For instance, when I play beast with blade of the serpent, I'm a little more vulnerable in the firwst 2 or 3 levels, and will sometimes pick up a combat health potion or two. Similarly, if I see an enemy player that 'over-chases' a lot, or tries to kill swap, I may pick up an extra potion. It isn't just about surviving, you can use them to trap people as well. The other item I've been really surprised

I've actually found one of the most confounding strategies with Erebus, is to grab the teleport favor item, and ALWAYS sneak into 1v1 situations and make them 2v1.
i agree (again) with Milskidasith. late game the hybrid-build is the strongest. but the problem is to get so far. the passive skills are at early and midgame far too important. they seem minor but it you benefit more from them because you cannot really build spit + ooze together + foul grasp and have enough mana for the active skills until late game. and if you dominate in early and midgame you allready have the advantage you

This is actually the general thinking behind the Hybrid Build for TB: Fireball is an awesome spammable skill, and frost lets you win and control an encounter. So yes, I think it is a pretty reasonable build. I go about mine a bit different, as I focus on Frost Nova over maxing out rain of Ice (frost nova is sooo good). The one thing I have come to appreciate however, is that Fire and Ice is probably not as worth it as it looks: You end up spending a

I would generally agree that mist isn't a 'must have' and is opposition dependant. Early on at least. However late on in the game, mist is a valuable tool to help survive many encounters you wouldn't otherwise... for instance when batswarm is still on cooldown. I really think of it as an insurance policy.

The funny thing, is that there is one player I know, who ALWAYS plays like this with rook. It's absolutely silly, and nobody wants him on their team. Everyone in the community always is sad when this guy is on their team, and we all know him by name. Who am I talking about? Guy we all know, his name is "AI" and he plays rook like this to the worst degree.

Replays let you know what HAPPENED in the game. If you've ever lost a game, and couldn't figure out how 'so and so' did 'such and such' you can go back now and find out. OH, they had THAT item, or THAT favor item, or someone used THAT skill on them. You can also analyze your mistakes and what you could do to fix them. They are also a fun way to remember a good game, and to show people how to play the game.

So, in order to talk about hybrid Erebus build I've been using lately, I think we need to know what the non hybrid is. My general plan with Erebus by level 10 is 3 ranks in bite, 4 ranks in mass charm, 2 ranks in bat swarm, 1 point in poisoned blood. (Level 11 gets last point of bite). This is the 'assassin' build for Erebus, and I think it is a pretty good one. However, I've noticed lately that a bit of minion support makes you substantially longer of lifespan, requires les

Rook + Unclean Beast. Beast can Grapple giving rook an easy hammer slam, rook can bould roll to catch someone who is running. Both do good dps at melee. Erebus + Regulus. A lot of the time regulus can be dealt with, if just barely, 1v1. Erebus with his bat swarm + 2 different snares (charm, bite) can quickly turn a 1v1 into a 2v1, into a 2v0. Oak + Sedna: If both have priests, and are maxing out their main aggressive skills, they can be very hard to drive fro
