Heart was build dependant in some cases, but in many it was a fantastic victory item to end games, I think it was correct to move it back in the cost lineup. 12k may be 'too far' for it to be strong, but I think the damage it did to the game, even if it was only in games that didn't involve the upper crust, is gone. Remember, you cannot judge balance simply by the 20 best players in the game. That'd be like judging fashion by the 20 skinniest people in the wo

It's all an ego thing. People think the community is a bunch of whiners... when they disagree with what the community thinks. When they are in the majority, they think it is simply common sense, and can't understand why anyone would object. It is imperative that a company listen to feedback, and use that feedback to determine how to modify the game. A lot of people think that 'don't listen to the community' is somehow a 'null' opinion. There is no difference in:

Or if you have graphics settings down, then you don't see it at a certain zoom level. There has always been a graphic... Side Note: I do enjoy how many placebo errors are reported whenever any game gets patched. Soon people will note Vlemish faceguard as OP because it gives the wearer the aura bonus too!

For each player that has less than 2000 favor total, increase their total favor to 2000. What I'm basically saying is that instead of resetting to 0, reset to the point where everyone can get 1 favor item of their choice right off the bat (Or a few cheaper ones). Why? Because those who really just want their "X" item back can get it, and don't have to have that sinking feeling of not being able to play the game the same way anymore.

I also think it was a poor choice to reset Favor. Let me make a comparison: Imagine if you had to pay 'favor points' to unlock the ability to take certain skills? Without paying 50 favor, you cannot get Snipe 1, and it takes another 50 for each level after that. Once unlocked you can use the skill like normal... but until then you have to play with just stats and maim. Decreased combat effectiveness aside, it just wouldn't be as fun. Consider the ques

Endgame isn't what matters really. I mean, the end of the game is predicated by the early and middle parts of it much more so than by what you can do in it. Oak who dies more because he can't shield/heart is less likely to be a huge late game factor.

47 Replies 14,964 Views

Yeah, QoT really has the problem that 'not dying' isn't the same as 'killing'. She is almost always the worst partner I've had, and when I've played her (A lot recently) she just doesn't add much to group fights. So very sad.

Not necessarily. It would be nice to think of this as a standard RPG where xp is based on the difficulty of the opponent. In reality however, each wave of creeps represents an amount of xp and gold the opponents get, as well as the pluses of having additional units in your attack waves. It is a steady constant stream for the most part, thus you should treat it like one. The important part is to balance the effectiveness of the unit, to how much gold/xp they give the oppone

Overview: Their stats are not necessarily any better than nightcrawlers or spirits They cost significant mana to keep up compared to a 200 mana ward or FREE You can only get a very limited number of them Shamblers are a prerequisite for too many skills for them to be anything but 'great'. Yeti's have no synergy with Sedna's play style. Further thoughts on each main point: Their stats are not

Hmm. It isn't a bad argument, and I do admit that the point in mist is the one I'm least sure of. I may consider a point of charm or s'more regen. At the very least mist can be vital against certain match ups (Reg, Beast) but obviously that is different than it being part of the 'build'. My knee jerk reaction is to say 'but I've used mist late game to shake up the 3v3 math, and it has been effective' but perhaps something else would have been more effective. Worth trying o

Actually, I've recently been thinking along the same lines as ntropy. I've played a few more 4v4 and 5v5 games recently, and the one thing I noticed is how trivial towers start becoming. Three people trying to snag a 'runner' who hid behind a tower? Not that big of a deal, when the tower damage could be split amongst three people. Stuff like that kinda annoys me since it takes away a lot the early game. And by early game, I mean that point where you can early on kinda hi

AoE bursting on towers really isn't the way to go unless you can actually kill them. And yes, you should know whether or not you can do it before wasting a bunch of mana. Really, use the burst of damage on the rook itself, and let the frost nova hold down the towers for a while. I've really only ever had one bad experience with a rook player. It was a guy who stacked all his towers in one spot, and hoodwinked me into thinking there were only like 2 there...

[quote who="Shadow_Avenger" reply="3" id="2273276"]I played a game with someone, can't remember the name, unfortunately. But it was uniquely satisfying. It was a 4v4 on Mandala, and unfortunately right when we started, I had to go afk cuz of an emergency. I came back about 2 minutes later, and noticed that someone had -1 sim speed, so the game was a crawl. Anyways, I said that I didn't want to play at -1 sim, and a couple guys from the other team started to make fun of me, saying I

Thing is, only about 5 or 6 favor items are even worth considering, and that's DG type independant. If you are talking generals... you've got maybe.. 3? 4? The longer I play, the more the list narrows. At least I've recently discovered cloak of the night to be another 'good' item.

6 Replies 2,453 Views

So, you haven't posted in here for a while... I take it this is the only tower rook you've played recently, right? I mean, if you'd beaten any, I'm sure you'd jump on here and tell us, just like when you lose?

126 Replies 17,831 Views

One thing I will completely agree with is that consumeables can definitely be used wrong. You shouldn't be using them to try to win battles you had no real chance with anyway, like chasing a half health sedna past a tower early on... you pot, she heals... you die anyway. The worst example of this came, when I saw a UB, who had bought TWO 400 gold health pots, used BOTH while losing a 2v2 against me and my ally, and then still had to retreat to base. A complete waste of 800

Yes hammer slam is actually a 'fear' attack that costs no mana, just micro management. If you mess it up, it has the side effect of killing any minions in a radius. Is also a coup de grace against helpless opponents. As it were.

The thing is though, that During that ponit your army will likely deal little to no damage, because after tb hits both of those abilities, he will simply move away, and minions without ranged attacks do not hit moving targets. Alternatively, since you went with minion pumps, if he just harrasses you with 1000 hit point fireballs, you will have less to defend yourself with. Similarly, if he were to Frost nova your minions for 10 seconds, and then pile drive you, those nightwalker

19 Replies 54,180 Views

Yeah, drugfreeboy is correct, it was a very sad thing for me when i found this out. Not that I run a 'fire' tb anymore. My bias aside, I disagree with you saying not to spam fireball. The only time you shouldn't is when the opponent has some static healing effect, such as priests, around. Otherwise you can get the most damage per mana via fireball, while having the granularity to scale up (with nova or circle) as the situation requires.

Keep an eye on the opponents HP, not just their health bar. health bar shows a percent, and can often decieve you. Some players buy a lot of HP items early on, so you may be up against a rook with 3k hit points out of the gate. Even half dead, he'll have more than your 1500 no hp regulus.

18 Replies 3,749 Views

I really don't think focusing on minion pumping items is worth much. It makes items like the gloves look a bit better, but getting things like platemail of the crusader is sacrificing too much just to make your little guys a little stronger.

19 Replies 54,180 Views

So, for instance, just shooting with regulus once at each opposing creep, and then switching targets, will tag them all. Abit more work, to be sure, but effective at getting gold.
