Two things that always make me laugh, though I notice it more in opponents than my teammates: Regs who snipe me when I'm at full health, and have priests, and am under no immediate pressure. The Beast who is spitless, and spends most of the game doing basically nothing but running around hoping people fight him 'fair'... and often ends up getting double teamed. Lastly is the Sedna, who thinks she is being truly helpful, because she heals you in 2v2 scenarios

My general impression is that part of the reason minion strategies are effective right now, is because people just aren't used to fighting against such strategies. I remember the first time I played reg vs an oak who just sat back and swarmed me with spirits... I really didn't know what to do. A few times getting hit by 10 spirits at once is a harsh learning process :P. Kinda like the first time you try to attack rook in his tower form.

Let us not turn this into a war of hyperbole. I have strong thoughts expressed in my Original Post, and hope I do not come off as 'whining'. The concept here is not that the HP items create an unplayable system (re: JagerJack) but rather that the system is noticebly not as good as I think it would be if the system were changed. That is all. So yes, 'fix' may not be the right word, as that implies it is a bug. 'Alter for the betterment of the game' is what we want.

Well, Attack items are weaker mainly because of three things: Fairly obvious imbalances. Gauntlets of Brutality give +25 damage (Armor modified) and Banded armor gives 400 hit points. That means it takes 16 hits against a zero armor target to equal things out. HP are effective for almost every task. They let you run when out matched as well as press for a kill when under matched. Good HP and HPS helps you take down towers, and ninja portals. Lastly, es

Hit points are what counters ability damage, and while you can increase HP almost indefinitely, you cannot increase Ability damage. I think you actually have the truth of it backwards. If you really want to argue this point, though, I would suggest you do it in a different thread, where the OP isn't simply spouting off rhetoric, and QQ ing about how TB owns them. http://forums.demigodthegame.com/358032

Cloak of Flame makes the circle of Fire. The actual circle, however, is generally secondary to the 20 mps, and +30% attack speed it gives you. All three things make it a pretty decent artifact pickup for late game (Kills waves of creeps, also makes you deadlier). Not that I often buy anything from artifact shops other than Rejuv elixirs.

Qot Only has 3 valid skills. It isn't surprising people don't use her very often. It doesn't take many players long to go "Hmm, I tried shamblers, and they didn't work, what else is there... oh my god, only spikes, spikes, and shield? Geez."

Do you mean sides as in light/dark or sides as in sides of the map? If it's the latter, then that makes no sense, because all the maps are mirrored.
No they are not. Exile is not a mirror. The closer health crystal to the forces of darkness is a Mana regen flag, whereas it is a health regen flag for forces of li

Rain of Ice Damage: = damage listed +/- 5% Just did some testing on it, and, for instance, a rank 1 rain of ice did between 190 to 210 damage, every single time. Rank 2 did 380 to 420. This looks to be just a little bit of randomness that I'm guessing is present in a lot of effects that we simply were aware of. I have no idea why this is done, but there it is.

I had the exact same problem occur, so it is not just you. Also happened with the 'q' command. I will bet an entire chocolate donut, it has to do with the intro animation where the camera spins around to show the DG's being set twice by accident, and only one is ever unset.

Universal Gadget is pretty awesome. I almost always get one or two throughout a game. (especially for 'no chase' dg's like rook). I almost always get 1 extra kill because of it, and it offsets the cost of the item. And even just healing with it in emergency cases for a good solid 2k is worth it.
Pretty sure you guys are talking about this item... http://demigod.wikia.com/wiki/File:Bulwark_of_the_Ages.png
The Bulwark may be responsible for a few of the reports in this thread, but those talking about the slight randomization of damage are definitely not. Test it out yourself. Start a game, choose TB, get rain of Ice, and cast it on a group of creeps. look at the damage numbers.<

51 Replies 24,076 Views

I doubt it is a bug, probably just an unlisted feature. :P. Honestly though, it is harder to do damage wrong like this, than right. I mean, you set the damage number, you apply it to targets... really simple. In order for you to accidentally randomize it... I just can't imagine that.

51 Replies 24,076 Views

Well, I rarely get to play pantheon or skirmish, so I can't talk about that much. In custom, since you can often end up playing a more coordinated team than yours (especially if you are forces of darkness), it might make the lack of coordination on your own team a little more distressing, causing the bitching that we have all experienced. Just a guess though.

If you have nothing to add, don't. I'm not trolling here, I mean it. Dev's have to read these threads to get a good sense of player desires. Spiking the punch with random negativity doesn' t help anything. So I'll just thank you for whatever good reports you've done, and ask you to refrain from making unnecessary posts.

He has minions, sure, but his actual DPS is pretty weak; Oak is probably a lot better against towers, I'd think.
Erebus' minions take hit for him (retreat for a second if he is acquired by towe). Priests heal minions, and you, negating one hit or so every 8 seconds. Ultimately you can attack for a long time, and the dps of the minions adds together nicely to hit hard. A

Yeah, I really can't imagine why they'd add in a completely weird damage randomizer for AoE damage. All I can think of is some that AoE always has some spread based on the center of the target. I'll explore this a little bit tonight when I get home, see if I can discern some numbers.

maxxy, we are seriously trying to be helpful here, and that isn't. I've got a whole list of little map changes I'd like considered, but that will be in a seperate post. Make some a bit more surviveable. Some maps are very hard to play with n

HPS? You mean hit points per second? That couldn't explain it. We are talking about the numbers shown above people's heads, not the amount of HP they had after casting.
