hedgie's offer to learn a champ he doesn't play in order to stay top,
. It wasn't "haha i'm going to learn how to play Lissandra specifically to play top and screw with pacov!" It was: "if i am going to be specializing in top lane - and neglecting other lanes - it might be better for me to learn a new champ than to put me in another role and have someone else play that champ". That
If we are better off in a comp with a lissandra top and gnar is banned, then I'd hope we can be more flexible than top or feed though.
Hmm, i do think that there was a little bit of miscommunication on what my intention was for that post. "Top or Feed" is an okay attitude to have if we are playing a Ranked 5s team with any amount of consistency. The fact of the matter is that if i'm not playing top, i am going to be weaker than other pe
Assuming that either Cow or myself is going to be playing mid, we will almost have a low-mobility AoE mage with a lot of zoning potential. Similarily, Pacov and Hunny tend to play more early-game focused ADCs (more often Lucian/Caitlyn/Graves rather than Kog/Twitch/Trist). Pacov also tends to be rather gank-focused bot lane, and tends to purchase a lot of pink wards, etc. i think that means that we are often going to be in a position where we will be advantaged for the first dragon or
I think hunny on ADC worked on really well for us as a dedicated ADC was part of our problem last season.
i agree. While i am a decent Kog player, Kog is not always a safe pick or the pick we want to put into a teamcomp. We do also have pacov, i know that he's been playing a lot of Graves and stuff as well. That said, i do want to say that, at the moment, i am very much a "top or feed" player. Last season, i could play a few different roles
i did have a typo there, sure. Doesn't make my point invalid.
SoloQ MMR affects your RANKED TEAM MMR if you have never been on a ranked team before. Doesn't do anything with normals. One of the "old wise tales" about Meteos was he was actually one of the highest Normal MMR players in the world, but had massive ranked anxiety (and was actually like Bronze or something). It took Hai or Balls to encourage him to actually play ranked... Not the mention, by the time you hit level 30, you have already a few hundred normal games (unless you levele
I'm thinking the jungle itemization options will hurt him a bit and without the gold of a solo lane, ouch.
You also have to "Fight" for the gold in a sololane. That's not something that Fizz can do in every matchup while he is farming up some of the most expensive items in the game in order to be fully effective (BotRK or Gunblade, TF, Zhonyas). Jungle is considerably safer from a "minimum gold" perspective, even if its maximum gold is
exactly, i 100% foresee Fizz top as more of a counterpick to Gnar. Not only was the matchup not a problem for old AP-Fizz (the only time i really took him top), he's even easier for AD Fizz. In LCS, he was being used toplane specifically against Gnar as well. Note that in limited history of top-lane in LCS, he was built pretty tanky (TF, Frozen Heart, Hexdrinker) rather than pure damage. That said, Jungle Fizz might have some other advantages over Top Fizz in SoloQ. Top F
Prefacing this discussion with: "the current division system is a REWARD tier and not a RATING tier". MMR is your rating and determines matchmaking and "win predictions". LP is a reward you get for winning games, and is a function of your MMR versus your current tier.
Clamping is what happened to people when they were approaching their promo games and started getting 0-2 LP a win. They've done away with that mostly. I don't know where actual clampin
just like he'd never duo queue botlane for a third of his promo matches since it's SOLOQUEUE and bot duos literally have a 25% win rate
i thought she lost her Grevious Wounds? i think that'd make her a lot weaker to sustain champs top after the first few-levels. One thing about Trist is that her traditionally-awful midgame DID get a lot better. Corki with a Trinity Force will still be better, of course. It just might not be so weak that professional players often forgo a BFS item for the first 20 minutes and go Pickaxe + Shiv for better farming. Additionally, if Graves/Sivir get nerfed, she might have an e
Orianna is one of the classical lane-counters in competitive play against Fizz. She's not as good as Lissandra in teamfights though :) Liss is a really hard matchup as well. Note sure why it's "wrong" for a champion to come back from the lane phase? Didn't you say in your last post that snowballing was bad? If the first 10-15 minutes are all that should dictate a champion's future performance, that means that you 100% agree that snowballing should happen (or it needs t
I was also thinking anivia might be worth trying to get good with because egg sort of defeats the purpose of most assassins. Having to kill her twice might buy enough time for your jungler to come in and make a play.
While that's true in teamfights, that's not really true in-lane. The only assassin that Anivia does really well against is Leblanc and that's only when your egg is up. If you fall behind and don't start stacking you
- Map Presence - Kills - CS Lead Pick 2.
That's why you take TP on Anivia. The CS snowball + counteroams ;)
Since when is 550 a very short attack range? This isn't Urgot.
A lot of people consider Vayne to have "very short" range because her ability ranges are not much different than her autoattack ranges. This is also generally true for Tristana (espiecially if you factor in level 2 you want to jump ON your target).
<
I don't think you have enough money for the jungle item on 2 camps and having just 1 pot with the 100 gold increase. I think you could do that before the 100 gold increase.
That's what i'm saying - it was something i did last patch that you can't do anymore. If you do 2 camps + scuttle you might be able to only buy one health pot though.
She loses a substantial amount of range and some utility. She also gets a noticeably weaker early game, and her early game was already weak.
My understanding is that Trist actually has a really good level 1/2 (even if it isn't quite as good as Corki/Graves/Lucian, she is probably #4). She just really has a hard time starting ~level 4.
scuttle
that's actually really interesting? i think that
It's only 2.2 at rank 5. It requires 5 autos or 4 autos plus a jump. Most champs were already dead after five level 18 Tristan autos. So it's only relevant against tanks. Most arcs have a tank shredding ability. The damage in lane is generally weaker than her old spell if you factor in the previous wounds. It only beats it once you get your first BFS item.
She only has one AD ratio and it's bonus AD...
You're reading that all wrong... R: the 20% Chum the Waters damage amplification is the same as using DFG on the single target. (One of the problems with Fizz atm is that just DFG + QWE can one-shot your laner if you get just a little bit ahead. You don't even need to hit the ult). W: His W always had a % missing damage ratio... Old Fizz W had two "modes": 1- passive: apply a % missing damage 3 second DoT 2- active: autoattacks apply gri
Assassins seem to be really over the top right now and I am not sure how to play against them as my farm mids any more. I had some success with viegar vs ahri today but it was terrifying.
i dunno. i mean usually there is a few assassins that are good every patch. But that's also true for like mages. Syndra was extremely strong for a long time. Ziggs was one of the top win rate champions for about 6 months last year. Orianna is always a cons
@Cow: tbh, Fnatic's midlaner got even more points than your ADC. Ha?
Neither have I :) i think you can only repick at the end of the season. You have 3 "alternates" that you can freely swap in/out every week, though. You can do trades and pick up any players who aren't on any teams already.
