On the topic of making Apps transparent, Vista Sidebar has a neat Opacity feature which allows the desktop to show through in varying degrees of transparency. Any ideas on how to apply this to Windows in general? This even works when the Gadget is dragged off the Sidebar and on to the main desktop area.
Gammeldansk
Great article. Thanks Island Dog for bringing it to our attention. By the way, for those who might be evaluating the Wallpaper Master software mentioned, there's another excellent wallpaper changer available free from Nuonsoft - Wallpaper Cycler Lite. It's packed full of features and easy to use. Also, those who love to tweak might consider having a peek at the How To Geek website.
Just noticed a new problem. When I go to WC I find that I'm already logged in to the galleries, but not as Gammeldansk, as Stardock User - odd this. This occurs even after a CCleaner run before going to WC.
If any of those subscriptions are still available, I'd like to see one going to Uvah. He's had his share of setbacks recently, but has still kept his sunny outlook and his interest and contribution to WC alive.
It would also be nice to have a feature whereby a fence could be hidden and only made visible via a password. I've always wanted a fence to keep shortcuts to sensitive stuff like firewall settings, system restore, disk cleanup, ccleaner etc. but have been put off as our computer is used by our grandchildren and small fingers can wreak havoc once they get tired of Club Penguin.
Great idea. We all know of members who have experienced financial, emotional etc problems recently. How's about members nominating these members for one of the subscriptions. Something like I nominate member XXXXXX because...
I'm having similar problems with logging in. Also I now have to try 2 or 3 times before I'm logged out of the Galleries. Logging out of the Forums just brings up an error page. Now I dont bother logging out. When I exit WC I run CCleaner and this logs me out of everything. I'm just gone, just like the Witness Protection Program.
Once again thanks for everything Boss. Its members like you that make us newbies stay with WC and introduce it to our friends. By the way sis-in-law pleased as punch.[e digicons]|-)[/e]
Hi k10w3. Searching for skinning.net (IE8) brought it up no problem. I first tried just skinning and got reams of stuff on how to skin a rabbit.[e digicons][/e]
Experienced problems with ePrompter, but managed to find a notifier that works ok with Yahoo. Its available from DynAdvance.com and its freeware. [e digicons][/e]
5 days to play a game!!! Could be worse - u could be watching two sloths playing ping pong. (Hope John Bull's side wins!)
We'll give it a try tomorrow when we get together and post how we get on.
Had a quick peek at the eprompter site and it looks promising. Thanks Boss0190.
As a Vista user I use the excellent WP Corp email notifier to notify me of new mail. It sits on my Windows Sidebar and monitors my Eircom and Gmail accounts. My sister-in-law uses XP and has a Yahoo.ie mail account, and we have searched high and low to find a widget or something that will sit on her desktop and notify her when she has new mail - all to no avail. Any ideas anyone?
I did'nt know that a "new" and probably a for purchase version of Fences existed. My Impulse makes no mention of an update. Searching Stardock I found a brief reference to "Fences Pro FeaturePack" but no further information. I have Fences v.096.1650 BETA which I just discovered is a community preview and due to expire after August 31st, 2009. Is the "new" Fences part of a Stardock package for purchase?
[e digicons][/e] to all, but especially CarGuy1 for the Color Flow 2 dream. The motion and colour changing is, well, dreamlike.
As a nation you have over the years evoked feelings of love, anger, envy, admiration, bemusement, but never hatred towards you. You accepted our people when their countries failed them. You came to our aid when you could have remained distant. Without you this world would be a much poorer place. So a Happy and Peaceful Independence Day to you, U S of A. Enjoy![e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
Could'nt agree more. This is a pointless comment from an ignorant little gobshite. By the way check out his (Stadiz) profile complete with the anti islam rant.
Fascinating stuff Kenwas. Now I know why we have a 5 foot, 3 inch broad gauge system in Ireland - the Romans never came here. For the same reason they never reached South Australia either. [e digicons][/e]
My Trust optical wireless has been scurrying about without complaint from me or it for ages now. At 14 euro from my local supermarket, I would say it's the cat's pyjamas if it wasn't a rodent.
Welcome back!!! Hope you decide to have your uploads restored.[e digicons][/e]
Just spotted the "Goodbye Wincustomize!" entry under Recent Forum Activity and thought that WC was being closed down - holy shit!. Then read on only to learn it was somebody terminating his subscription and requesting his uploads be removed (they're gone). Thank **** for that!
WOW! Please extend the finish date for TWIS. These guys n gals are just beginning to move up through the gears [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
And many more to come. [e digicons][/e]
