With everything bad that's going on with you at the moment, you still found time to give kudos to Chasbo for Azenisgismo. You got the right stuff bud. You'll come through this Uvah. I wish you all the best.
Just found out Impulse has an uninstall feature for its programs - its under Manage Application. Couldnt see the wood for etc. I guess this doesnt do a total uninstall also. By the way thanks for the link to the Stardock zapper - one to keep in mind if needed.
Impulse doesnt appear to have an uninstall function, at least I couldnt find it, but if I ever had to uninstall Id probably use the Bill Gates method built-in to Vista. I've used it on other apps which didnt have their own uninstallers and its always worked for me. But to uninstall Impulse itself I guess you would have to remove everything you had installed via Impulse first. By the way what is the Stardock zapper Ive been hearing about?
There is a bootskin available on the Wincustomize BootskinXP Gallery called Cyborg by Alperium. Dont know if this is the same skin as the Cyborg.php one. Have a peek.
I've been using the original version 1.0 as I had problems with the previous update - the Load/Save function was reporting corrupt memory on my PC. Just updated via Impulse to this new version and glad to report that the Load/Save options are now working normally. The updating itself was flawless and it preserved all my skins to boot.
WB 5.5 and WB 6.0 are for XP/Vista(32-bit). Don't know how limited they are.
Early versions of Window Blinds are free and available from CNET Download, but they will have limited skinning ability. Later versions are available on 30 day free trials. Also, have a peek at the Stardock site.
What's with this sudden upsurge in nickname changing? Are the IRS involved and the repo man too, or is it just a mid-life crisis issue? Now lets see... SixPackMan or...
Just to inform the WC community that this site is online again. There are 4 walls by WC uploaders posted - Sed, Mrs Starkers, Ausvet and Sydneysiders. Apparently they have granted permission for their stuff to stay, with exceptions for one WC member.
The site's Gallery is still offline, but a new link referring to WC Members has been added. This seems to consist of an apology cum explaination, with a list of the WC members whose work was in the gallery. The gist is that the site was a hobby and personally financed (with the aid it seems of a very professional donation facility accepting credit card paypal secure banking which is still active). One to keep an eye on folks.
This site is reporting its newest registered user is Frankief. Very fishy this. Definitely a WC ripoff. Site has been around since November 2008 if not before.
Just had a look at this site and it reads like a who's who of WC. No sign of my stuff there - ah jeez am I that undesirable? On a more serious note some of their links concern sites that Site Advisor flags as Yellow - possible adware, spyware etc. so use caution if you decide to explore.
Just discovered the Dock has a built-in feature to disable dragging. Feel like crawling beneath MS-DOS till the embarrassment blows over. On the plus side this has solved the problem of mouse happy grandchildren.
Good god Draginol you really do exist. I recently added a link to my site on one of my downloads and on testing it found myself redirected to a site for Draginol - rechecked my typing, no error there. Does this work both ways? Does it explain the surge in people downloading my skins? Draginol I'm your fanboy for life. PS I've removed the malfunctioning site link. PPS like your stuff.
A docklet to disable/enable the feature whereby dragging a docklet or separator off the dock and releasing it removes it from the dock. This would prevent accidental deletion of a docklet.
My weather docklet, the AccuWeather one with the fancy 5 day flyout is working fine. The only problem is its constantly forecasting rain (to make matters worse its always right!).
Hi Debbie. I'm also a newcomer and sometimes feel lost and bewildered. If you're in doubt or confused just post your problem. The old hands are quick to respond to you. They're courteous, understanding and oozing with patience. I've made a nuisance of myself and received nothing but help and consideration from them. It's a rapid site so persevere and enjoy.
My apologies to the author of the docklet in question. The problem was highlighted in good faith and turned out to be a quirk in the way different AVs report their findings.
Guess its a false alarm then. But to be on the safe side I think I'll stick with my Windows Sidebar Mail Notifier - its never failed me. Many thanks for your help Zubaz, Hankers and Jafo.
Hi Zubaz. I'm using McAfee Virus Scan 13.3.117 updated today (its a component of McAfee Security Centre preinstalled on my system). I did another download of the docklet in question and ran a scan on the ZIP with the same result - PWS Banker Trojan detected and quarantined. I can understand an antivirus program reporting a false alarm, but why be so specific about the alleged infection's name.
Thanks Hankers and Zubaz for such a quick response. I took the PM route.
I recently downloaded a mail checking docklet from the ObjectDock Gallery (Docklets section). When I unzipped it, my McAfee Security Centre popped up to inform me that it had detected and safely removed the Banker Trojan. This may or may not have been a coincidence, so I dont think I should name the Docklet here. Perhaps the Moderators might look at all the Mail Checking Docklets in the Gallery (there's not that many) to see what they might find.
Never knew about this tool either. I've been using PrintScreen (freeware) by Gadwin Systems for screen capture. Must try Snipping Tool out. It took me a while to find it. It's located in the Accessories folder which you can access via START, ALL PROGRAMS when using Vista. Thanks for this Amitsaran.
