I have to say that I feel completely oppositely of you, OrleanKnight. I have had more fun with every single update; the latest one has been especially enjoyable. It is really great to see the game progessing, as the Demigods' skills get more-developed and the game itself is updated. I actually don't think there is too much to handle at once; in the case of Generals I would actually like it if there was more to handle. I guess this could be a result of
Gnats3
They have been adding some things and removing others. They probably plan to update the Torchbearer a lot and do not need him in this version, or have decided that he is good the way he is.
I'm pretty sure her minions are ranged and have an attack animation that looks alot like walking (they stomp their foot or something) and if you zoom out a little you can't see the numbers. I'm pretty sure I've seen them doing ~37 damage before when I zoomed in and could see the damage numbers.
There are no servers to worry about! The game is international. Your ping probably won't be an issue as long as we can convince everyone that 200 ping is not bad. Right now there are issues with the networking code so getting games started is difficult, and the community is a little small since this is a beta where you must preorder to get in, but there will surely be plenty after release.
I think it is pretty well-known by now :P
Also, when Soccer194 says 20 skills, he doesn't mean that there are 20 different skills. Most of the skills just have different levels that you can get over time, which usually do the same thing as lower levels but higher amounts (more damage, longer stun, etc) and with a higher mana cost. Some skills also have a fully-upgraded version that gives an extra effect.
The game is certainly noob friendly; you don't need to sort through a list of possible recipes or pick from 93 heroes before you start. However, there is certainly enough depth that better players can have a good match and can take down noobs fairly quickly. I believe Stardock and GPG have said that there will be a year of free updates after release, including new Demigods. I haven't played DotA but I'm pretty sure Demigod has more skills per Demigod. DotA has what
1) I don't know exactly but I'm pretty sure there are a decent number of European players. 2) There aren't servers. One player hosts the game and sets the game options, and other players join that game. Everyone has a "Ready" box that they have to check, after which the host can launch the game. It is just like most RTS games (I assume Battle.net works like this too). 3) You earn gold by being nearby when enemy units die (you don't need to be the last to hit
As the topic says, Achievements don't update in the Achievement screen after a game; you have to exit Demigod and launch the game again. I'm not sure if playing another match would update achievements from the previous match without exiting Demigod. Also, when you start up Demigod, if automatically displays the Torchbearer's achievements, even though he is not in the beta.
It was intentional that destroying the Citadel wins any game mode.
I think Achievements are bugged, not disabled. I've gotten several of them, but others don't activate. Some of the progress bars are filling up correctly.
Pretty sure there is a pause key. I think it's just the pause key on your keyboard, or maybe F10, I forget.
Nope, the pause key doesn't work and F10 is just the menu.
I recently heard that people can't log in because they have pirated windows, now i'm not normally one to complain but i think i'm being called a fucking pirate, hey and i was excited by this game but now i'm having second thoughts because the devs are jumping extremely quickly to conclusions before it seems they have even looked into the problem
Calm down. Having a pirated version of Windows XP can prevent logging in
You can see your War Rank by right-clicking your Citadel. I'm not sure if the Citadel gets bigger (and thus stronger) based on the War Rank of on which Citadel upgrades you have. Right-clicking the Citadel also lets you see the upgrades you can buy to strengthen your units and buildings. These are actually called "Favor Points". You get them for getting the achievements. Look at the Achievement screen from the main menu - you will see your current favor points.
Well then, I want a "first kill" announcement too [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
Knowing is half the battle.
The other half is strategy.
Yeah, but usually some damage will have been done to the dead Demigod by one of the others, and it would be useful as a "this team got the first kill" indicator [e digicons]:P[/e] . And these aren't full Gods anyway :P
Hold down the spacebar and move the mouse to rotate the map. I don't think health potions are too big a problem since there is a limit to how many you can hold, and you can lose health really quickly at times. The time it takes to use the potion is pretty substantial with the big potions. I enjoy the update as well, though :D
He wants you to play a game with only assassins to see if the Generals' minions are making the game desync/crash...
I can believe that. I think it would make more sense if it was the first Demigod to die, however.
This has been around since before this update, and is pretty annoying. I'd love a Pause button that pauses the game without bringing up a menu that blocks part of the screen.
I don't know if this is intentional or not, but in my last game against the AI, the "first smite" announcement wasn't made until a Demigod killed another Demigod, even though the reinforcements and towers of both sides had killed several Demigods beforehand. Of course, this could just be some serious announcement-lag; I haven't checked that yet.
If you stun a "dark" portal-reinforcement with the Rook's boulder, its texture changes to the light-side version until the stun wears off. It is particularly noticeable with catapultasaurs and priests. This was supposedly fixed back in beta 1 but is still around.
Celerity, Valor, Fortitude, Regeneration, and Rejuvenation are all nouns. Brilliant, on the other hand, is an adjective. Changing the flag to "Brilliance Flag" would be more consistent.
The "[Demigod] the Almighty" achievements still say that you must reach level 25, which is no longer possible in Demigod :P. I'm not sure if reaching level 20 gives the achievement anyway or not.
