I originally posted this in the GPG forums and there was some agreement, so I'd like to propose this here as well. Right now, I think most of us agree that Generals need some work. Generals typically summon all their units while at the health crystal, then go into battle with one big mass of units, including the General him/herself. This essentially makes them an "Assassin with p
Interesting, though I wish you had followed my advice :(
This idea has come up a lot but I doubt it will ever happen.
Yeah, the achievement items will probably basically do what your post suggests. You will get better ones as you play more, and the automatching feature will take your items into account when it sets up games.
GPG is developing this but SD is helping out a lot with the development.
Any plans for matchmaking based on a player's rating?
I imagine normal ranked matches will have this feature. Having it for tournaments would be cool too though.
Supcom is also peer-to-peer, except you had to deal with ports instead of this ImpulseReactor stuff.
Yeah, preorder now and you can get in to at least beta 3.
I'd rather have some RTS in this RPG [e digicons]:\[/e] . But I'd love to have tournaments where every Demigod is a different side, assuming 1v1 in this game is decent. Or maybe make it like the singleplayer pantheon, where you have different combinations of Demigods playing against each other but each is ultimately playing for their own gain.
This has been like this for ages :(
That really depends on how the spells, items, and upgrades work. They could just spawn extra Demigods (they are just units) when the game starts and triple the number of buttons in the UI [e digicons][/e]
I can't WAIT for the campaign. I LOVE a good epic fantasy story, and with a game (and characters) like demigods this looks like it will be awesome!
I just have to warn you, the campaign probably isn't what you are thinking of. There will be singleplayer "tournaments" where you essentially play a combination of skirmish games to try to get into the Pantheon, and there might be a few cutscenes maybe, and there is pro
TBO has put together a really great article about Regulus's skills, only this article is about designing the skills rather than using them. You can check it out over at Gamereplays. The goal here is to get a good discussion going for each Demigod so that we can make the skills as great as possible. The skills really have a huge effect on how the game plays and
I want this.
i still don't understand Why you guys don;t use a client server in the 1st place

So why was this done? There are many reasons for it. For one, it tends to reduce lag between players and in a game like Demigod where timing is important, reducing lag is a big deal.

it seems everyone will have to know how to open router ports to play fluently online
The entire point of S
I'm pretty sure most/all of the voices are just placeholders, so don't worry :D
Yay! :D
You can't fight your battles without your General right there in the front line, so they're not going to be different from Assassins. I think the main problem is this dependency. If it were to be that a General did not have to be on the front line to function as normal, then it would be better.
Exactly my thoughts.
Most of the Demigods are considered overpowered right now [e digicons][/e]

I'm pretty sure the only singleplayer is skirmish and the pantheon mode, not specific scenarios like in normal RTS games. I would enjoy that stuff if it was included, however.
I'm pretty sure this is actually a bug that occurs when you have anti-aliasing enabled.
I think I preordered in April or so... probably right after they confirmed that you needed to preorder to get in the beta. I've been interested in and following the game since it was announced (before then, even, when Scathis was still here and called it Something New and wouldn't give us any information), but I've never been a fan of preordering. I prefer to wait an extra week after release to make sure it doesn't turn out horrible :D, and it usually isn't worth bothering.
Looks good, though some details would be nice [e digicons][/e]
