Hahaha. :)

Oh and also to note, while the counter-to-cost of flaks:bombers was over 15:1, since fighters die more than twice as fast(as of 1.02 and 1.03. Now bombers die less easier, but i'm comparing based on 1.02/1.03) you can figure how good of a counter they where to fighters. Oh and it's not like I'm saying flak should only kill bombers 3.5:1 or so, more in line with other countering. It's just 15:1, even 10:1, is ridiculous. :) The counter-to-cost ratio should be closer to 7:1
Wow Innociv that's interesting point. I wonder if that's why they changed antiverylight damage to do less vs light, in order to buff bombers. Which makes it stupid as hell because now you cant use fighters vs lrms and you cant use flak as well as before, so to counter lrms I have to tech to HC? WTF? It makes very little sense. And now u will probably have a better chance of using bombers vs flak. Any scenario where bombers counter flak is a retarded one! Why would you make bombers ef
Astax, Bombers aren't going to counter Flaks now.. they'll be more resistant to them as they shoudl be though. Before a few flaks would kill bomber squadrans before they even got to fire a second shot! If someone had 10 flaks you needed to have like 70 or 80 bombers! That's ridiculously hard of a counter compared to all other counters in the game being relatively medium.(usually beating things at 2:1 to 4:1 ratios) In comparison to beat 10 flaks with lrms you needed about 40 or 45
I wasn't referring to skills giving damage reductions. To be more clear I meant armor and damage types.. Like this unit has "leather" armor, and this unit does "peircing" damage, and peircing damage does X% damage to 20 different armor types and to leather it may have a bonus.. Those kind of things are unintuitive as it just requires senseless memorization of what does what damage to what and what has what and does what. But what would be cooler in that case is if the skill made th
The computer you linked is just $500-$650 of parts so I don't know why you think it'd be a scam. And if you're talking about waiting a few months you could get a 9600. the 8600 512mb is just a $100 graphics card. And there are $150 9600's. That processor is less than $200. About $125 for motherboard. $0.20 per gb or less for storage. $75 or so for 4gb of ddr2 ram. $150-$200 for a reliable good power supply like an OCZ. $100-$150 to get a real fancy
I was wondering this as well. A lot of us liked how supcom was physics-balanced instead of balacned with armor and damage types. A units dps and all might seem nice, but if it had a high arc and a slow projectile it'd miss alot. Then again, an arcing shot would make it fire over hills while something that fires straight could lose a ton of DPS. And Demigod won't be played in first person i'm almost certain.. I dunno where you heard that. Screenshots are just taken in a wa
All the demi-gods look alike in the screenshots.2 Q's:a) What is a demi-god?b) Are they visually or functionally customizable?
you will be able to buy equipment for them.. don't' know if that makes a visual impact. That'd be a lot of work.
Most of you know me... But a friend, Therlun, told me about this game before Stardock dealio. :P
I wondered this too. GPG where planning to overhaul GPGnet anyways.. so why not use their talents to make impulse better? :P
Not just one of my favorite game company people, one of my favorite people. ;o I just hope This Demigod being pushed back to Febuary is just to make it better not to add a bunch of single player.. The head developer months ago said Single Player would basically just be training and that it's a primarily multiplayer game. :P
Okay even if it runs 10x better, I bet it requires ShaderModel 2.0 That means 6600 or better. AND HOLYCRAP BRAD IS FROGBOY? Omg I had no idea... no wonder member #1
Damn TheBigOne beat me to it :( But i'll say it anyways :) 1. Yeah, any combinations as answered. I personally think it'd be really cool to play a 3 Generals vs. 3 Assassins sort of match. :D 2. Single player will basically just be training, I believe. Which is how I like it. ;o 3. It's sort of Aeon of Stryfe or however you spell it inspired with the Assassins, and for Generals it's more like an RTS but I don't think theres a heavy base building or economy aspect.. I belie
Thanks! Though i haven't worked on modding yet since it's too limited right now. :P
ugh stupid edit gone.. Anways. Sorry if I sound condescending, it's because I AM now. I'm so tired of making valid points and backing up my arguments with FACTS to have people say the same WRONG thing over and over. (IE: Omg fighters are super buffed and will pwn lrms now because flak does less damage to BOMBERS and hits BOMBERS less.) How many times must I explain that bombers have a seperate armor class than fighters? Fighters are VeryLight. Bombers are Light. Th
How did bombers get a boost vs LRMS?! They do like 4dps when they cost so much! Just as well off using light frigs! Or did you not know that Fighters are the unit that counter LRMS? You know, the one that has a whole squad die instantly to flak? And no, people are simply going to build MORE flaks now since they'll need more to effective kill LRMS. That means fighters are LESS of a counter to LRMs.
10x?... Okay that's a little lofty to claim.. Just 3x better would be nice though. Supcom runs like 1/3rd or 1/4th as good as sins. :x
Did you even read what I said before you barfed that hyperbole out?
Yes I did, babycakes. *clears throat*
Also, innociv, carriers now have a better chance of countering LRMs, as they should. Flak will miss 25% of the time against fighters.
Here let me rub in the point a little more.
Also, innociv, carriers now have a better chance of countering LRMs, as they should. Flak will miss 25% of the time against fighters.[/
He's actually somewhat right..
Yarlen said he'll try to get it up tomorrow on TGN and it'll cost 6 tokens ($42)
Superb job, guys Really well done! Also, innociv, carriers now have a better chance of countering LRMs, as they should. Flak will miss 25% of the time against fighters.
Sorry but... No. I'm tired of justifying people saying this with a response to. I almost think I should have some document with the math for all these showing how just a few flaks(say 4-10) will kill many squads of fighters within seconds each. But no, I shouldn't, [B]you people should be a
Assassins can be support demigods.. or so can Generals. It's just Assassins only control their one unit. Generals can build additional ones (angels, minotaurs, catapultasaurus, maybe more plus 1 unique unit per general IIRC) and control big armys like a normal RTS. But just because they're called ASsassins.. it's just the distinction of it being one person. The Assassin could, I assume, be a healer. It could do big heals to one unit, do aoe heals, chain heals, or something.
it's on the supcom engine.. But hopefully it'll run significantly better than supcom does otherwise a ton of potential customers will be missed on. But that graphics card is so old. You can get a 7800gt now for like $100 can't you?
Carrier Cruiser cost reduction is great but really fighters and bombers just need better survivability and faster building/lower AM cost. And of course the Market fix is great but i don't understand why just that change couldn't of been made 3 weeks ago, it's just an entity file change that takes 2 minutes.. but ah well.. And the lrms thing, the big issue.. them not being able to chase caps planet to planet is nice, but the problem is that caps still won't be able to
