Innociv, I'm not following- there are more defences than just defense vessels, what about the other structures, etc...? I'm not disagreeing, I'm just trying to see your point more clearly?
Since when do gun turrets stop LRMS? 1: LRMS kill them quickly. 2: They now ALL outrange them. (before only javs did with their 7000 range. Turrets have 6000. Assailants had 6000. illums had like 5 or so i think? Now all of them will have more than 6000, so turrets won't be
The data (ICO stats and singleplayer commentary) says siege is being used as a massed strike force (and in many cases, multiple strike forces). Its obvious why too: the cost and supply usage is low and you can't kill them quick enough to stop them (nor can you strike at them elsewhere in time). Thus they cost more and are more easily killed - we really want players to have to choose whether they go heavy siege and when and where they should strike with them. But if there is serious proble
I'm not saying that the siege balances are necessarily good, just that everyone needs to remember that there are two "different" games going on here, and Ironclad shouldn't just focus on the multiplayer one. They don't seem to be, which is good.
Omg calculators add up numbers faster than me. Nerf math!
Cost of 4 sieges(estimation based on percent increases): 3000 Credits 400 Metal 300 Crystal 60 supply Cost of Capitol ship: 3000 credits 400 metal 250 crystal. 50 supply. ROFLLLLL. Why not just remove them from the game? I don't mind the lower survivability at all, but these cost and supply changes are rediculous. Only noobs that don't know what they're doing will build them now. With caps sure you have to upgrade fleet research w
They need a seperate version for singleplayer and multiplayer then if balancing singleplayer means making advent unplayable in competitive play. Oh but don't worry, now advent can make improved culture broadcasts while their homeworld is getting destroyed while there is nothing at all they can do about it. Maybe they'll drop a roids allegance by half before they die!
Yeah.. Advent relies on the defense vessal early in the game to stop enemy LRMs, as illums SUCK early game. They suck against light frigs, they suck against lrms, they suck against flak, they suck (early on) against caps. Later on they're good against caps, good against HC's, support cruisers. It seemed to me the devs were geniuses and intentially gave advent the good flaks for beating back LRM rushes so they could survive late game. I guess it was just coincidense. GG adven
I'd rather see an approach where the starting Black Market prices are way too high to even consider buying. They would then start to lower in value until they reached the point where players/computers thought the price was worth it.This would flat out eliminate the rush to buy resources from the black market at the start of the game. The choice of using the black market later becomes one of when you think the price has lowered enough to be worth the credits.
As I've alr
It tends to still givey ou the message even if you can host. I can host but i still get the message. But yeah.. open up 6000-6012 that's all you need.
They really could make it better like steam, though I had no problems.
Dunov+Kol is a horrible combo, stop using it. Dunov is only good with two of them. It's useless with one, great with two. They're fragile as glass and can't defend themselves, but with two they can spam sheild on each other (especially with flux. zomgs.) Kol+Dunov.. Uhh yeah this works great against newbs that don't know to kill the Dunov first. Kol is good as it's a good solo cap, and tec caps generally aren't worth making more than two, or one even. The Sova ha
As advent i use carriers with bombers to clean up planets. I just run from planet to asteroid chasing people who run, or after smashing their fleet, to get to their more important spots and along the way ill leave 4-6 carriers with bombers to clean up buildings on those now undefended planets. They do the best for that as you can retreat them easily and defenses cant shoot them.(except fighters in hanger def) But you only need 1 flak per 3 carriers to stop them.. Flak are e
My answere is better. >> http://www.google.com/search?q=irc
Scouts don't cost metal and move fast, and build faster than anything. :/
THERE IS NO CHOICE. You CANNOT CHOOSE to not buy 200 crystal, or at least 100, at the start. It's OUT OF THE QUESTION. If you don't, you have lost. As I said, might as well make people start with a random amount of credits.
Yeah Relic simply had/has extremely extremely extremely talented concept artists. Not all good modelers/texturers are good with concepts. Ironclad is a small company. Yeah HW2's are way better artistically, so are some more games, but sins is more fun and more addicting to me.(Though HW2 had better combat mechanics)
I'm loling. Is this original post for serious? Lets not even mention you want to know what your enemy is building. Maybe this stuff works against AI, but not online.
It gets up to 400, but that's playing not just in lobby. IT is a bit a low. Apparently a lot of people don't even understand how to get onto ICO. About 5 people every day come into IRC asking how. They don't understand the "Add Players" thing where you make a handle to use in ICO then connect after choosing it. They always think you're supposed to add the names of people you want to play with rofl..
Yeah the market sucks but they're not redoing it for next patch. And even with some big changes to it, people still need 200 crystal more early on and 700 credits less. ;/ Change those two numbers now, make changes to the market later. They've already said they were planning to have a better market but that's harder to implement than changing 2 numbers of starting resources.. They could throw that in 1.03 if they really cared about improving the game. :/
Lol at people thinking you don't need to heavily micro in this game. Well you're right you don't HAVE to. But if you play2win, like the above, Carighan, says, you have to. One reason is that the AI for autocasting simply isn't good enough. And with auto target it seems your units will sometimes be good and target the weakest units first, but sometimes wont, strangely. Plus there is positioning our units to abuse enemy ships turn rates, yada yada.
There is no good start that doesn't involve an extra 100-300 crystal. Someone doing it doesn't' automatically make them good, but it's a start.
As Astax said.. You newbies just aren't getting it. I hope to god IC isn't just cattering this game to people who don't know how to play and can't use google-calculator. -_- No offense and all, your arguements would be fine if you actually made valid points, but you're not. This IS an issue. The market place changes are NOT going to resolve it. The Marketplace fluxtuations and boom/crash is for other reasons, not this. No they should add 200 crystal and REMOVE 700 credits. The
Yeah with the antorak's subversion on a map like point blank, or any other where you're within 2 jumps you can go in, use it, and just out LRM spam your opponent since you build them fast. It's a similar effect to embargo and archpsi, yes with the whale you can lowered armor, damage over time, and stop jumps. But the problem is that if someone has a kortul and equal sized force, you'll be the one trying to jump away.
The cooldown on ion bolt is short and the akkan can attack while using it. It's certainly useful, especially for stopping channels. Also lol@skirantra carrier ranked above antorak marauder. I hope people don't take 90% of what's in this thread to heart. :/ There isn't a best cap for each race. All 3 races have 3 that are good, depending on your playstyle, map size, situation, and 2 that pretty much always suck.
Lol, what? There is so many wrong things and misinformation in your post taltamir that I can't even begin to point them out. Sort of nullifies your point, doesn't it?
I don't really see what the arguement. All higher level players know you need to buy 200 crystal at start to advance fastest. All of them know your crystal income is much less than credits early on. All of them do relatively the same build order to get the fastest start, it needs the crystal. So with how it is now whoever clicks first gets an advantage. This is stupid. In a 6 player game the 4th, 5th, and 6th people have to wait or sell metal to get cap factory up.
