Well consider this please: Here you are, TEC player with that nice juicy planet. You seek to defend it. What do you do? Usualy, one would put up a shield generator. Then guard it with turrets (as they suddenly were made useful), repair bays and hangars. Even mines if youre generous. Now, you put a station into that. A big honking Piece of solid Tank. A piece of solid honking Tank that will Restore anti matter to the rapair bays forever, a base that will start murdering a

Well, i think Heavy Autocannons should be Replaced by good old HEAVY FCKN CANNONS. You know, HEAVY CANNONS. The Thing with BIG Barrels that shoot BIG grenade like things - possibly with nukes attached to them - at Other peoples ships. And Yes Cannons work in space ,expanding gas is expanding gas. How you make it expand is a matter for the handvavium to discuss. You could also do rails guns. Railsguns are back in sci-fi after the rather sudde

include humans/jaffar/goauld/asgard/wraith. thats enough factions and lets be real: ori don't have enough ships and too little is known in general. + they would own all but the humans/asgard so whats the point. Asgard only have 3 ships know, 4 if you include the lost tribe. But then again, with them you can go for an more unique style with very few multi ship types.

the purpose is to force a battle at the starbase (assuming they get a buff or synergys with other things. right now they are rather expensive roadblocks that ppl can either go around or simply overrun with a small fleet.) . The blocakde is limited to a single lane because a full block of a whole phaselane cluster seems kind of overpowered. Making it a ability that eats am is reasonable.

Id love to have the ai of my ships handle mines efficiently. aka minesweepeing if i give the order. whytf do i have to manage that, i'm the emperor not the fckn fleet commander.

The Starbase, all Starbases, should be able to scramble/blockade a choosen phaselane emmiting from the grav well the starbase is in. Conditions being that the target gravwell is under your control (akak a colony of yours) . Due to the network-like setup of most phaselanes, the defender coudl shut down phaselanes leading into his inner empire thats why any target grav well can only support a single blockaded phaselane.

i was thinking that the other 2 should be brought inline with cost of the TEC. Having no cost attached is stupid and bad for orverall balance. in fact they need to be more expensive since they are a lot more flexible.

So TEC mines are actualy what ppl expect of mines: easy to deploy fields ( With their cost and the fact that the actualy do take real space (cant place 2 on top after all) they form a nice addition and have a limi

Alas. Since never crashed once for me. Funny yes? Don't always blame the software first, take a serious look at your system and how you most likely fucked it up in some incredibly non intuitve way. I play sins ever since i got it in a nice 8 man ffa with my pals. the sessions usualy last 2 evenings. its a blast every single time. I'm happy stardock actualy makes the effort of having players test the changes to balance before they release some form o
I have a nvidia 8500 gt, quad core processor and 3 gigs of ram and I would love to be able to play sins in dx10... dont you agree?I have an 8600 GT M0nkey, and I get slideshows when I turn on DX10 in any game. The only Nvidia Cards that can run DX 10 playable are the 8800+ cards.
well honestly: wtf did you buy a 8600 in the first place?

And what does dx10 add to the table that merits the extra amounts of work needed to make dx10 versions of the game compatible with dx9 versions? + Space games can look marvelous in dx9 already, look at nexus for example. Polish what is readily available for the bulk of the people.
