How about a new type of victory? it would be called an economic victory. where you have like three times the production (and research) of the top player in production and research.

Religion and Politics are the only reasons for war! And religion happens to start most of them! There were seven crusades. Why do you think so many people supported the war in Iraq? Why did we nuke japan instead of Germany? Think about it. Germans are white and Christian... Japanese are Yellow and some other religion... Actually it is the humble mosquito that has taken the award for killing the most humans. Disease, we can fight. You ca

Why are you saying it will ruin the game?!?!?! Multiplayer is an option! If you don't want to play it (MP) you don't have to! If MP "ruins" the game, us MP people will compensate because MP would still be AWESOME!!! I'm done yelling now.

Does our existance even have a meaning? Do we exist as an accident? Some atoms just happened to run into to each other and form a self conciuose cell, which evolved into a fish which (eventually) evolved into us? I think time is the difference between where atoms are in space then and now. Without time, everything would be frozen as it cannot continue, it can only stay. For example, a fan is blowing behind me which is blowing a piece of paper magneted to the fridge. I could

I just like multiplayer because (sp?) the AI is always DUMB! Yes, stardock did good job with the AI in this game but they still don't have the qualities that make playing against an actual human fun. They can't decieve, lie, cheat, steal. They are predictable, thats the whole problem.

Where is it or what is it called? I would like to state my opinions & ideas there, and support for it. it is in the stickies, but probably no one reads it anymore? so i guess this thread is justified. I think that multiplayer should work like this (if it were ever to be used). It starts as more of a forum topic/chat room thing. Where everyone tries to agree on what settings to use. (i.e. size of galaxy,

Hey there! If you want to see a great movie about a colony on mars... watch Total Recall , this movie is AWESOME!!! Also, I think the improbability drive makes more sense than whatever you'r talking about! EDIT: Hold on!?! 1)Cryonic stasis was mentioned in the title of this post, why? 2)I read this in one of the hitchhiker of the galaxy books. If we h

Hello! I always play to the end unless I know I'm going to lose... I play to the end because I like to see the other empires cower under my reighn and I like the mop up part (sometimes) because I get to look at how great my empire is, and aknowlege that I am the most powerful one on the board, that I........ am AWESOME!!!

There is a multiplayer thread already. Where is it or what is it called? I would like to state my opinions & ideas there, and support for it.

Solar storms could also provide a hiding place for ships, because it would reduce the sensor range of anything inside it to 1. And if your outside of the storm your sensor sight would stop at the edge of the storm. (I qouted myself) Another idea- you shouldn't be able to see inside a nebula unless you are actually inside it. This means that the AI's attack fleet might pass by a nebula, and get wiped out by a huge secret fleet yo

huh?!?? Don't animals have better senses? Like when the Tsunami hit animals had already been panicing and running to higher ground before any human (on the shore) even knew what was going on. I think thats why the bird would outfly it, I already "sensed" and had taken of with a jump start. a human gets killed. Exactly, people wouldn't have invented or used the bomb if it didn't do just that. a

This thread is nonsense, and hence a waste of time that may just be the most true thing I've heard yet!!! Time doesn't begin, it goes back for an eternity. God created us right? we created god to explain our own existance, correct? So this sorta goes in a complete never-ending circle re

(Sensor bonuses gone, movement down to 1 parsec a turn?) Nah. how about three? I don't want to turn ships into dial-up internet. (super-super-super-SUPER-SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW). Oh. and yet another idea. meteor showers. if one of the meteors hits a ship it takes HP away and if the meteors fall apon a planets, it could take away Quality. Maybe there could be an improvement, called meteor shooter downer... um... or something. <div class="Artic

Uh... what about armor or point defense? if you can only use laser shield to stop a TS. it sorta makes shields way more useful than anything else... it sorta disrupts the balance of the weapons/defenses. should there be three different planet destruction techniuques. Terror beam that blows a planet up? Planet blaster (shotgun, sorta) that shreds a planet into a million pieces? An implosionary missile that collapses the planet? personaly I just like the reflectors. h

I don't know if this is different in D.A..... but the computers really tick me off when I try to trade with them most of the deals they except are nowhere near an even trade, it's like giving them free stuff, unless you have a huge diplo. skill and reall good relation with that race. Anyway, I was thinking that each race could be given a "generosity" factor, where as, the higher the generosity factor the less stubborn they will be in trade deals. So, for instance the drengin wo

Yes. cloaking can be done anywhere, but hiding in nebulae/solar storms can only be done inside the nebulae/solar storms, which adds tactic to the rather boring several turns I spend wiping out ships wihtout any navagational problems. Now everyone can play submarine with their ships!

You'd have to make planets faster than he destroys them and... you'd have build improvements on them, he doesn't. It's largly advantagiuos for the evil dude. I think stopping terrorstars is better than giving them extra targets. Maybe a reflector, simply, it reflects the terrorstars beam back at itself. simply, you have about two or three ships with a reflector module, and they all have to place themselves in the path of the beam (before it fires). For this to work

What if, you could 'mine' a wormhole (ST:DS9, I know...), so any ship that came through exploded, detonating the minefield. A 'Minefield Starbase' would be built by a constructer, and various modules increase the number of mines. As such, if there is a wormhole leading to, say, Drengin territory (Your enemy), you can shut it down. Of course, the minefield could be destroyed like most starbases... it only activates if you use the wormhole. I think "minela

Um... I have another idea thread about Black Holes here. Otherwise, I like the binary systems idea. EDIT: Hey, I just had an Idea, binary systems could possibly give production bonuses because, with it always being sunny out, your solar panels will always be churning out raw power!

Although evil civs are "sopposed" to have hard time because the "Large" quantity of good civs will gang up on them, but it never happens, I've never seen two races form an alliance (this may not be true in D.A.) unless I was one of those races. Good Civs should get the benifit of relationship, in otherwords, they should cooperate, to rid the galaxy of evil. It should be an even match up, all good fights bad, instead of evil picks the do-gooders off one by one, and wins. Maybe if you choose the g

OK. so forget the mining bases. But I was thinking... Instead of Xiniuthum hull plating, you could just have a resource called Xiniuthum that raises your HP levels and makes your singularity drivers more powerful... What if you could mine something on a star, like, heck, I don't know... but what if you could mine stuff on a star? Plus, It would make sense to put more resources on those class zero planets, it make all those empty star systems way more useful.
