Mega Events are fine the way they are. They're MEANT to turn the game on its head, thats what they're there for. There are some lighter versions in the game already, which are just called "Events". They can be turned off if they're too hard.

Violence in games doesn't bother me at all, and it's not going to turn me into a psycho killer, as some organizations would like to have people believe. I play a wide range of games, some violent, some not, some slow, some fast - it depends on my mood, and how stressed I am. At the end of the day, it's just a bit of fun.

Do all races have access to Nano Rippers now without choosing their alignment? I thought you had to be evil to get those weapons. I've been away for a bit. Maybe I missed something.

Start on an easy difficulty level first, to get used to the interface, and screens. It's also a good playground for learning some basics. Afterwards, play it on Normal a few times until you get to grips with it, eventually working up to "Tough" (the first level where the AI and player are on equal ground). After that, try out whatever takes your fancy. The economy is the most important part of the game. Try not to bankrupt yourself by over expanding. Build markets and establish trade ro

I didn't find the expansion that great actually. The aliens were interesting from a story point of view, but gameplay-wise they weren't much fun to play against. It added a few new human factions too, but most weren't as interesting as the originals. The one I did like a lot was the pirates. I always removed the Believers from my games and put them in instead. Sometimes I replaced the University with the new faction led by the blonde chick (can't remember the name now, lol).

I don't play a lot of PBEM games. I did play one called Laser Squad Nemesis. The community is small, but AWESOME, especially if you go to the forum to find players. They run all sorts of learning games, and they set up their own program to train new players. There are projects, like writing game reports to give newbies tips. I would really recommend it to people. In fact, now that I have some time off work I may resub. Damn you for making me crawl back like some dirty crack-whore!! lol

I used to play it, but the glitches and cheaters killed the fun. I might go back to it and see what's been fixed, when I'm in FPS mode again.

Somebody bought me the Sims 2 + Pets Expansion double pack for Xmas, and I just haven't been able to stop playin it. It's really quite frightning how addictive it is. It has one feature, which would kick ass for GC2. For those who don't know: Each neighbourhood (and each Lot on it) has it's own 'bin' where screenshots are stored by the game. You can access story mode quite easily by pressing F4 or clicking on the right button. What story mode allows you to do, is organize your

The character I designed for the competition a few months ago came from a race with Native American style traditions. I think that would be cool, or something based on Ancient Chinese legends.

LOL, sounds awesome. Just make sure you teach the AI, that without someone to press End Turn, they'd be frozen in time forever. Imagine if the AI realised it could beat a user by turning off his pacemaker...

I don't know enough about that game to know what problems they've been having. It seems to me he's more upset about being kept in the dark. Like I said, I don't know enough about the game or the devs. What I can say, is Stardock has been awesome. Even when they told us the Epic Story Generator wouldn't make it, they were ncie enough to apologise and give us advanced notice, and an explanation.

Do people who don't care about scores need the Metaverse? Personally, I find it boring to take the time to milk a game for points. If the Metaverse awarded points for exciting games, amazing comebacks, fast victories etc. it might be fun to participate in. Until then, bleh, what is it good for?

The Drengin's ability seems to about getting ships when they're needed, fast. What if their ability was changed, so instead of getting free ships, they were able to teleport their ships from anywhere on the map, to any Drengin controlled planet or starbase.

It does make the game quite unfun, because everybody gangs up on you, and you can't produce agents quickly enough to get rid of them. Neither can you work out who it is, so you can attack them and sort them out that way. I would like to see some, or all of these things: - Spies in the field need a high maintenance cost. - You should be able to produce Agencies to increase your spy production. - You should be able to pay cash (a lot) to nullify agents. - You should

Often, all you'll want to know is: What you can do that they can't, and what they can do that you can't. Because I don't use the foreign screen, I don't remember if it displays all the shared techs as well. You know, what would be sweet is a screen with two lists it. On the left is your "Tech Advantage". It shows you a list of your techs that the slected opponent doesn't know. Underneath, is a pie chart. The colour of the slices matches the colour of the techs, so at a glance you can

Blah blah blah, there are also tons of people not on the forum who like GC2 and DON'T want multiplayer. Conjuring random statistics out of thin air is easy. Multiplayer fans have never been "chased away". People only complained in their threads because it wasn't in the friggin' sticky and they were getting tired of reading the same old threads. Speaking of which, if you searched the forum for other hotseat threads, why did you make a new one instead of using an existing one? kthxbye
