hmm...maybe you got some stupid packet filtering running in your non-XP boxes. Try checking your network settings for things like QoS or something else that might be the culprit.

are you guys chasing with autoattack? Or are you chasing with a skill? I know the skills are bugged and if chasing with a skill you will usually stop at the point your target changed directions...ie when they turn the corner you will stop at said corner. I dunno about autoattack chasing though...
will beta test for food.
replying so I can seee the damn replies...ignore this post
This forum update is causing bad things. Threads have no replies but if I reply then all of a sudden there are dozens of replies. then if I edit my reply I get taken back to the thread with no replies. ARRRG!
I don't know if it is the specific Sedna bug you describe, but I did find/fix a bug in the new patch where if your pounce target changes directions, Sedna will travel to where they changed dirs and then rotate to face the target and just stand there. When she rotates it sorta looks like she is hunching down for a sec so maybe it is the same bug you describe. Edit: I should say, it is not just Sedna's pounce. But *any* targetted ability that you try to u
double post due to horrible forum performance upgrade!
open up a command prompt and run ping -t www.google.com Now play the game. See if playing the game also stops your pings from working. I'm guessing it does. ie it looks like you lose your entire internet connection when trying to play. I know you've probably done all this but.... Have you 1. Tried connecting direct to the internet without your firewall? (could the firewall be siezing u
I can confirm this bug. From my observation: it is not the fact that the target is off to the side. The problem appears to be that when you start following the target, if the target changes direction. Like they were going East when you started chasing but then turn north, then you will travel to the point at which they changed direction and then stop moving. I've fixed the bug in the lua code and am sending it to them. When they fixed the sedna bug, they chose
it would help if you could post details on what happened. At least the character and skill involved. Direction you were facing. distance to target etc would be great!
Quoting InfiniteVengeance, reply 15 You get gold for assists now, when dead. That is bogus. Not sure how you are seeing this happen. I just ran a couple simple tests to confirm this, and couldn't get it to happen. If this does happen, it was not an intentional change, and we need some solid repro steps to isolate it. I want to believe you but, it isn't as si
Hmm. rant is posted. bug is fixed. Watch out, if we aren't careful, people will think there's a correlation! [e digicons]:w00t:[/e]
I too am looking forward to the AI improvements! I can't wait to try them out.
is there a way to extract the sounds? I want to hear the OH MY DEMIGOD sound which I am sure is still in there...
yeah I looked in ui/game but it looks like certain things are implemented as native functions for efficiency. Most of the navigation code is done in the engine. But the only lua script that even calls the nav function to follow a target is when you are trying to use a skill from outside range. The actual right-clicking code happens in worldview. But it just has a RightClickCallback and there is no lua script that registers for this callback. I can only ass
fyi I took a quick look at this. The code that handles clicking on the main screen appears to be in the .exe and not in lua. At least I couldn't find anything that issued the attack orders when you click on an enemy. I guess I've never noticed this issue b/c I almost always launch an attack via a skill (and *that* code correctly tracks your target's moving position) or am very close to my target.
kurjak thx for the explanation. I'll take a quick look tonight.
i've never seen that. does it happen when very far away or only when near? Or just all the time?
fyi I did hear back and GPG will include a slightly different implementation of the fix in an upcoming patch so yay! [e digicons]\o/[/e] I don't know if it will be in the next one coming out though...since that one is already at SD's QA. We'll see I guess. I guess they all took the long weekend off.
Well, I do understand how programming works, and have to say I have the same level of disgust with GPG over this bug. When posting in the Demigod technical support forums about this bug we are either ignored or told to tell GPG about it. Well I'm sorry if the tech support forums are the wrong place to try to get in touch with the people responsible for fixing this game. Neither GPG or SD (yes, I know, not their problem, but they are the only o
i've never even seen anyone connect with a proxy yet. I keep waiting to see it in action.
This is not a Stardock game idiot. You mean your last GPG game. Stardock did not develop this game, they published it. Learn your facts. Stardocks game DEVELOPMENT track record is stellar. Their publishing track record is great too, Sins of a Solar anyone? Demigod is undeniably a great game, it just has a lot of issues with it's connectivity. Stardock is still considered a great company for backing the game up and doing e
