Installing an upgrade through Object Desktop?????? in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

I always blow it. I downloaded windowblinds 3.4, I unloaded and uninstalled windowblinds 3.3, I installed 3.4. I chose do not overwrite defaults because I didn't want to lose my customized object bar again. I rebooted and then deleted 3.3. I really like windowblinds 3.4. I think you guys are all like "Wizards of OS". Magical! But whenever I reboot, only the object bars get skinned. I have to manually install the skin all over again. I made sure the settings say to skin it on bootup. I

I was looking for some older threads but they are gone. Are there archives somewhere? 1) Someone was having trouble with slow loading and he was advised about changing his file size. I did that and it helped a lot, but I wanted to learn more. Increasing my file size lowered my percentage of free space and if it dips below 13% XP won't defragment. I was hopeing there was some additional information in there about memory. I keep having to unload skins to get more memory. O

I have been afraid to rate for just that reason. Sometimes being 1 is the best thing, and sometimes being 10 the best and try as I might to always get it right I was afraid I would surely do it wrong. Not only was Motion a great skinner, but he took a lot of time to help me when I had a problem installing OD. He is a really nice person. gm

It could be that you need more memory. When an application loads it takes a certain amount of computer memory, when it loads and dresses up at the same time it takes even more!

THIS is my first computer! I spent my time working in ICUs and Emergency Rooms and got sidelined for a time with health and family problems. I got this thing on a gateway credit card and by the time I get it paid off (maybe) it will be worth $10000 but it is really one of their cheapos and already horribly outdated. I got gimp and found it kind of confusing. I had been using the free version of Image Forge, which I found much more user friendly. (I bought it for about $30 and later bought paint shop pro, but I still use Image Forge mostly -- no time to learn PSP).
