This (http://www.geocities.com/CollegePark/6174/english_crazy.html) is a very funny piece about the English language. It is too long to quote here, but this is how it ends.... You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which an alarm clock goes off by going on. English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which,

HEH.... thanks for reminding me! It is next to impossible to feel poor in paradise no matter how much money one doesn't have. The beaches are still warm, the forest is still green. The people still friendly, the food still good..... HEH... I already rationalized it another way too! I just spent six years saving my big sister's life. I took a stand against my entire family, and against the government too! I got them to take a look at her situation, to listen to what she said, to ev

I am a shameful spendthrift. I canceled the $312 order and a new tower that comes with 1.8 GHTZ, 256 DDR RAM, 40GB Hard Drive, CD Burner, all 2002 software, speakers, 56k modem with an eithernet card and free access here and there (I will not be using the AOL). Also a fancy keyboard (the one I use now is broken) and a matching optical mouse. GULP... for 789 including shipping to Honolulu. It comes nex

Well, this is a Gateway computer. I ordered a 256 RAM and a hard drive for $312. I have their credit card and that is the only way I can do anything right now. Do you think it makes sense to call them up and try to change the order if I can? Thanks GM

HEH.... Carlitus. English is a way crazy language, anyway! Even if you spoke whatever is "perfect" english, still a lot of people won't get it wrong. Besides, the more you do it, the better you will get with it. IMHO... soon we will have an internet language full of universally understood ROTFLMBOs and GMTAs...... IMHO GM

I am almost afraid to ask.... I was way at the bottom level for the options on the poll. I have only 399 mhz. Does that mean I need to put in more? I am getting ready to put in more RAM and a second hard drive, and now I see maybe I should think about that too.... Does it make any sense to keep dressing this computer up? I really can't afford a new one for awhile. thanks gm

I am sorry, Carlitus. My computer is so stuffed with stuff that I had to forego downloading very much. I even am trying to learn how to put a new hard drive in and more memory.... but so much is disappearing before I can get that done! I hope, one day, I find your work somewhere again.

Well... this may be right off, but these times started happening right after their second newsletter came. I was thinking that the process of sending that out (by the way, great job!) and getting a lot of people that otherwise wouldn't be so interested to check in might have caused an influx that won't last too long. After all, the newsletter did announce a lot of changes that people probably wanted to check out. but that is only what I was guessing. GM

***big red blushing emoticon*** I like it even better now that I have it installed all the way! Thanks for helping me! I'm getting ready to put in more memory, and I'm thinking about a hard drive upgrade too. If I get the stuff, I have to put it in myself (I tried to put a smaller memory chip in awhile ago and shook so hard I kept hitting stuff!)...... so, if you don't hear from me agai

Oh, and when they wrote to say that they were involved in other things, they said that they would be back one day... I guess not. One time I had a problem, and the guy who was helping me told me that IE had upgraded and they were in negotiations with microsoft. I wish I remembered more. It seemed that some of the new features they couldn't get a license to use anymore or something. Does that make sense?

I loved Neoplanet. When they stopped updating things I wrote to ask them why. They said they were working on other projects at the time. Then when I installed XP it conflicted somehow. If you skinned for Neoplanet, I probably used your skins sometimes. Hmmm.... I'll have to dig around, I think I was doing somthing and transferred all those skins into another folder, dono if I ever deleted that thing...heh <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmidd

I was thinking something like the Cirque Corporation - Smart Cat Touchpad (http://www.comark.com/SITE/L4.cfm?item_number=GDB410) I hope that link works... it's an External Touchpad. Seems kind of like the most intimate way to handle the whole thing, just do away with the mouse all together. Seems like you couldn't ever have more control than your own fingers... Did anyone ever try something like that? I wasn't sure if it was ok for one of the "little people" like me to put an outsi
