This problem should be fixed now. Thank you everyone who brought it to our attention.

If you uninstall LogonStudio Vista, the routine to reapply the default skin will be run, because we have had enough people saying "I uninstalled X but it didn't change my skin back" to know that leaving changes is a bad idea if it can be avoided.
No, that is not a feature offered by TweakVista, nor is there a tweak out there that does it that I am aware of. Microsoft has changed how it chooses to display folders in Windows Vista and there does not appear to be a readily-accessible switch to turn it back.
My guess is that this is because we have to pay you, and therefore you have to be a person we can enter into contracts with, and 16 may be too young. I do not know for sure, though, so I will ask our personnel manager.
Lovely . . . well, we can't exactly monitor every single referrer we get, but we can try to do something about it if there's a problem. I'll let the appropriate people know. Thanks for the heads-up!
Due to the way Windows has decided to do things, the end result is a 15MB file which contains images for various Windows functions. This is somewhat unlike the XP world where LogonUI.exe was a 500k file - 2MB at most even if you stuck a huge JPG in there. It would not be a good idea to distribute this on bandwidth grounds, even if your friends could install it - a process which requires non-trivial knowledge of how to manage security permissions. You would also be redistributing part of
When you create a logon, the image you specify is copied to an area of your disk (C:\ProgramData\Stardock\LogonStudio Vista\Logons). You can modify the original but it will not affect the saved copy. You can modify the copy, but you should not make changes that affect its name or size. When you apply a logon, certain system image resource files are modified to contain a copy of the image. Most of the complexity of LogonStudio comes in doing this automatically in a way that doesn't resul
This problem should now be resolved.
Thanks for the report. The problem is reproducable here, and it appears to be a server error that started late last night. I will talk with the web team and try to get this fixed.
Is there something going on here? We've been seeing a whole lot more coupons and stuff lately and now we have this premium suite. Is Stardock looking for cash? Well . . . Brad has been looking to buy a new boat, plus we made some bad sub-prime loans to the Drengin and now they have defaulted and said they will shoot down any repo-ships that enter their quadrant. In retrospect, extending their line of credit so they could buy "home def
So wait . . . did you buy TweakVista separately, or Object Desktop? If you bought Object Desktop, then in theory you should not need to register, as long as the email for the "Stardock.net account" (which is what you use to login with on Stardock Central) matches the email you used to purchase the suite. If you bought TweakVista, then you need to select that from the Products dropdown - the serial you got will not be correct for Object Desktop. Though, again, if the emails matc
If you do not have wbocx.ocx on your machine, then that would explain why you are having the problem - and why we could not duplicate it here. Something has removed it or blocked its install. You could try reinstalling, and see if the file appears in the program or system32 folders - if it does not, then something is up. If your logon screen has reverted to the original it suggests that you have something triggering a system file check scan. Windows will not normally run these, but it c
To narrow down the potential area of the problem, could you tell me if the version number is displayed below "Welcome to TweakVista", if the news is displayed or still "Loading...", and if there is any mention of system startup delays at the bottom of the Recommendations list? Also, did you notice this occurring with the trial version (if you tried it)?
This appears to be an XP problem, not a Vista problem. There is a somewhat technical solution to the problem of hiding desktop icons here - you can probably do it with the Tweak UI power toy as well.
That's an odd one. Get the latest build, and if that does not work either try renaming wbocx32.ocx in the program directory to something else in order to disable skinning?
We've made some tweaks in the final release build to improve performance, but honestly there should have been nothing like what you are getting there. It suggests that there is some kind of incompatibility with your computer. You could try renaming the wbocx32.ocx file in the program directory to disable the skinning and see if that improves it. The new build also only queries hard disks when you are on the appropriate page, which may improve things for you if that is the problem.
Good catch. Thanks for the report.
Hmm. Double-post - the server didn't seem to like the first one!
Given that my favourite combination of double cheeseburger, medium fries and a sundae from McDonalds is over 100% RDA saturated fat, it's probably a good thing I recently got myself (and Kris) onto fish oil and the one-a-day multivitamin. I don't like spending money on unnecessary recurring costs, but I can handle $0.12/day for a little piece of mind. Maybe I should consider getting the parfait instead of the sundae, too . . .
Seems to be open right now, probably just a glitch.
There appears to have been a recent update which is missing a command. I will try to get our installer team to fix this later today. As a temporary workaround, open an administrative command prompt by typing "cmd" into the start menu search box and right-clicking on "CMD Shell", then clicking Run as administrator. Then, run this command: regsvr32 wbocx.ocx
Sounds like user error to me. It takes just 5 seconds holding down the power button to do the same thing.
The download should be replaced now. Hopefully it will work a little better for those of you who were having problems with the installer.
Yes, that is correct. We do not have staff in India providing 24/7 support.
You are welcome to do so, but be aware that it makes perfect sense for us. Activation does inconvenience some users. We apologize for this, and try to make it right where there are problems. However, we are not about to stop using it, as the system has a proven effect in fighting fraud, which is a significant problem for most online businesses. Without it, prices would rise, or the level of service we c
