This error number means that the "specified path is empty". I am not sure what it means in this specific situation. Where are you trying to install it to - anywhere odd? Failing that, what are the details of your system in terms of operating system version/edition and language?

You shouldn't be getting that. I'll get in contact with the people who manage the Stardock Central installation package and ask them to fix that. Thanks for letting us know!
Wow. That's a funky one. It suggests that you either don't have a video controller or don't have a monitor. Either of those seems unlikely. What happens if you click Continue? Can you get to the Display section, and if so, what does it look like?
Hmm. That's a curious one! It's not crashing here, but I'll see if we can rustle up a computer that it does have problems on, and take a look at why that's happening. Thanks for the note!
Thanks for the suggestion, and for the correction. I was under the impression that Windows did not allow null passwords to automatically login , but this appears not to be the case in Vista. The simplest solution to get this working with TweakVista for now is probably to add a password to the Guest account, which can then be used in the autologin dialog.
I'm afraid that you are probably going to need WindowBlinds for that for the foreseeable future. As far as Microsoft is concerned, they will not certify certain drivers for the Windows Display Driver Model program if the underlying hardware does not support the things they think are required for sufficient performance with glass, and they have enforced that in the Display Window Manager. It is rather unfortunate that there is no user option to override their view.
It is the program. So no, it's not necessary for it to function, but it is necessary if you want it to run on startup . . . because otherwise, it won't be run.
Hi there, goldenstorm! The problem is you have a registry parameter that is set to a value that is unexpected by TweakVista. This crash is TweakVista's fault, as it should be able to handle that situation. There are four separate values that could be the problem: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache\Parameters, Values MaxCacheTtl (most likely) or MaxNegativeCacheTtl. These values could in theory be valid as 0. If you know how to use the registry edi
Hmm. I'm afraid I may not be able to give you a good solution for this. SATA presents certain problems for getting SMART information. The usual one is that the drivers simply don't pass on the SMART requests correctly. My immediate suggestion would be to check to see if there is a later revision of your chipset drivers that might offer better support. There may also be a tool to turn on SMART on the driver side. I would also be interested to know if HD T
Not at this time, no.
I usually just click on the file, but because the TweakVista skin doesnt have the shellstlye in it, the Load dialog looks funky. Ah, right, I see what you mean - it's not using the new Vista-style Load file dialog. This is not because we've not got a shellstyle, but because the .NET class for common dialogs passes in a hook procedure, and so to guarantee compatibility Vista drops back to the previous version. It should be possible to make it use the new ones
The Load dialog needs some tweaking though. Oh? Note that you can just drag and drop packages (and pictures) onto LogonStudio Vista rather than going through the load dialog. You can also drag thumbnails from the program onto the desktop or an Explorer window to create a package.
It should be able to install over the existing beta, and any existing logons should remain available in the new version.
Frogboy - Brad Wardell - is the CEO. He is not support. The US already has the lowest average number of holidays in the developed world. Stardock tries to give their employees a reasonable number, because often people want to spend time with their families.
The first thing to check is that your download source is a legitimate one. Might I suggest reinstalling from here ?
I got your rat-pack right here . . . (a friend from Further Confusion 2007 )
Unless there's a specific apply button there, or some other instructions, it's changing your settings "with immediate effect". The setting you are looking for is possibly Security: Low security (which requires a reboot), if you are trying to run programs that are not aware of UAC and do not request it, but which do require administrative permissions. However, in general you should be aware that network software like firewalls need fundamental changes to work with Windows Vista. You shou
Curious. Is the file WinSATAPI.dll present in your Windows\System32 folder? If you open Performance Information and Tools (it's a Windows component - type it into the Start menu search box), are you able to create an assessment, or does that fail as well?
Programs like this only create an environment where 3 years down the line, people still dont know where to go to view a process list, check their battery level, or even know where to look for what programs are starting up. That's OK. They can use TweakVista for all of those. But watering down the simple stuff, and allowing users to ch
Thanks for your suggestions! I'll file them in our feature database for consideration after we've worked any kinks out of the existing functionality.
Are you using a release build of Windows Vista? If so, what edition, and what language are you using?
I guess I should make use of those Vista Ultimate foreign-language packs. Hold on . . . *fumbles around in the computer for a while* . . . Hilfe? What's a Hilfe?! *prods at a few more things* Ah, here's a problem - a period was getting stuck in your default (local language) number parser. It only takes commas. I'll fix it to use the "invariant" parser instead. It's also using a text description when it should be using a numeric identifier. Some of the
As far as I know, yes. I don't know when that will be, though - not my decision.
It is meant to, yes. It cannot do everything but it will try to take the background.
If there isn't enough skinning news then Stardock should be manufacturing it and using WinCustomize to promote it, of course.
