in high school we were given a lecture on how you could not possibly survive flipping burgers at mcdonalds because you would only make about 18 grand a year. ???? For the past four years I have been living on a 10'000 AU$ a year Stipend. If you really need to, you can stretch and stretch and stretch....... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/ima

Kona, have you ever tried the Abandon Loader for your older games? It is freeware (donations are welcome) and you can find it here http://www.angelfire.com/realm/zeroone/abandon.htm I run all my old games (even DOS games) under XP (using NTFS) without any problems.

I've been lurking around on this board since the time before the moderators decided not to send out any rejection emails. Shortly after that the first "why was it not accepted?" threads started to pop up on this board and the never ending discussions started. I can also recall that a small pop-up screen as mentionend above by Sput (#29) was suggested shortly after those threads started to show up in an evergrowing frequency. My point here. Why oh, why hasn't that been done yet??? <b

He does the jump and attack thing too.... Don't worry about that, almost every cat does that at a certain age (usually during their teenage years..) it will stop all by itself. One of my two cats at home was a malnourished, ferral stray when I found him, and whenever I fed him he behaved like a madman (growled and hissed, and he would j

Uhh, I need the real thing. Although I can't afford an espresso machine (and I swear that would be the first thing I would buy if I would win the lottery...), I need freshly roasted coffee and Lavazza is my choice there.....mmmmmhhhhh, strong and dark.......

Actually, I live in the Northern Rivers area (NNSW) now, but I used to live up in FNQ. Me and my friends used to drive along roads and "target" those horrible cane toads (and there were thousands of those on the road on a rainy day), they made a nice squishing sound...

I have some points to add here: You know it is summer in Australia when... : the only time you can turn on your computer is between 3am and 9am, the only time it is cool enough inside your house, everything else fries your CPU. : your hair gets all dry and frizzy because those northerly winds (and they come indeed directly out of a gigantic hair dryer) mess with it all day. : hours after the first rain in a month your roof gets invaded with green tree frogs a

Many biologist would not aggre with you. If only we would actually know all these things, instead of just being comfortable about it. Remember, for hundreds of years humanity was very comfortable with thinking that earth was a disc in the centre of the universe That's why I said, it just shows us how much we still have to learn.

If the center of the earth were to cool and solidify, the diameter of the earth would probably shrink some small degree, since the radiation pressure from the heat would no longer be pushing outward. That's interesting, I always thought that the core of earth was solid with a mantle of liquid magna surrounding it.

I am not a Geologist but I am a Biologist and there are some inidicators there that suggest that our planet must have been smaller with a smaller gravity. There are many theories currently discussed about whether some of the bigger dinosaurs would have actually been able to survive in 1G or wether they would have been simply crushed together (the same thing happens to a stranded whale. Ahh, I guess this just shows us how few we actually know and how much we still have to learn <img src=

Your Idea sounds actually quiet good to me, but I doubt that Stardock wants to tie its products so directly to the WC website. After all, a price increase for OD might lead to a decrease of OD subscriptions? The first point now is to fix the "holes" in the system and see how this affects the financial situation of the site, if this does not change anything significantly, the second step would be to lay off the level 1 users. I personally would wait before changes were made to level

GonzoXP, I first had the same problem, but then I noticed that my shortcuts were all pointing to the older WinStyles program. Have a look at your shortcuts and make sure they point to ThemeMgr.exe instead of WinStyles.exe. I am not sure whether this will work for you, but it did the trick for me.

Paxx, I agree with you. This whole "pledge" thing is very hard to understand for non US-citizens. Whenever I see it being done (on TV) I really can't help but think it is political propaganda and brain washing. Anything that is repeated on and on will influence your sub-conscious to a certain degree. I myself don't know of any other western country who does a similar thing or does have the need for it.
