Made a few ships for the contest, so thought I would add them here. Loving some of the designs in this thread!

To Clarify: If you want to build the very best decks possible you will have to spend a decent amount of money yes. But those that have such decks generally play them only in tournaments (and only in those that let you use all the cards in the game at that - there are plenty of tourney formats that impose a level playing field in terms of cards). however, rare-less decks can compete with all but the very best decks in the game, so the divide is not as big as in many card-based games.</
I'm an ex-gal civ player who currently plays a lot of StarChamber, and have for over a year. Gal Civ is an awesome single player game, and I enjoyed it very much. I still fire it up when I feel like a bit of single payer challenge. But in the end, however good the gal civ AI is (and its one of the best i've ever seen), it cant beat playng a human :) From what I remember, many peoples gripes against MP online games were: 1. Impolite, immature idiots who will call you a
These sound like they are going to be seriously powerful! They will certainly make the races play very differently A great addition and i'll be looking forward to it
note after a few restarts the debug.err shows: Debug Message: Creating Civs Debug Message: Drengin Empire: Intellence -> 15 Debug Message: Altarian Republic: Intellence -> 15 Debug Message: Torian Confederation: Intellence -> 15 Debug Message: Yor Collective: Intellence -> 15 Debug Message: Creating Civs... Done even though the first few set intelligence to 80 as noted above. so somehow the intelligences have indeed ended up being very low.
nice use of civIV to get the piccies to go with the story
have you researched the neutrality learning centers tech (after invention matrix i think) as well as choosing neutral? otherwise i have no idea...
theres a few options in the options screen to control when the combat viewer appears, you can choose to have it show only when both sides are fleets, or when either of the sides are fleets. dont think you can have it come on for 1-on-1 battles, but youd have to check the options screen and congrats on your first victory <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" borde
WOW! what a planet!
happy birthday for yesterday, hope you had a good one
congratulations on the baby!
Well, I hate to say things that have already been said, but in this case: Woohoo!!!! *dances*
Hiya theres a lot of random advice here if you want to have a look: Link hope it helps
Hiya! heres a few hopefully useful points. 1. I tend to work on military and technology fairly evenly, and on culture only later on in a game if I think I can nab some planets with it. I usually lag a bit behind in tech early to grab more planets, then catch up later. 2. for weapons you are probably best focussing on one - even if the AI has matching defenses, the added damage of being further along one particular branch will cancel most of the advantage you would get reasearch
moosetek: I think he means the alignment next to the games in the metaverse as to the answer to the question, I dont know, but if it theres something worse than demonic I hope never to meet it!
I agree with a lot of that. Disagree to some extent with the invasion tactics - I do use the ones you mentioned, though admittedly not as often as the others. I think trade is well worth it, maybe not so much for the money, but for keeping good relations with civs you dont want war with early. econ starbases - would never bother with the trade modules, but the factory modules can be dead useful (depending on distribution of planets). my top useless in-game elemen

I think its already in the game, we just cant see it!
well, I had a game where the drengin were quite powerful (#1 military), and they attacked the torians. A few turns later I got a message from either the iconians or the altarians (I forget which) saying the drengins attack was unprovoked and they were planning to do something about it, and that I was welcome to join in. Next turn, the altarians and the iconians both declared war on the drengin (though they weren't actually allies). Needless to say, the drengin didnt last long, especia
the torians seem pretty good at that too. They are both very powerful on my current game (but will die nonetheless )
haharr, stupid drengin. they always seem to end up in wars they cant win...
never seen that one! sounds kinda scary. you cant really pick a fight with the pirates, they just appear due to a random event, and pick a fight with you!
sounds a lot like starflight - I played that on the megadrive but there was a dos version too. you could stun and capture the critters, and sell them, right? and suns were going nova and you had to find out why... is that the game?
maybe thats the explanation for why the altarians look like humans!
hehee, they've never done that with me but I wish they would! I think the difference is probably that people who play on galaxies with many planets dont see minors do much, because they dont expand and so get left behind. People who play galaxies with few planets see the minors become powerful on occasion because they start with a nice planet and as all races will only have a few planets, they dont get left behind.
