I thought after a certain number of years it was called common-law marriage. Actually, it doesn't even have to be years. Technically, if you have lived together for one day and introduce each other as husband and wife in public, you are considered to have a common-law marraige. Weird, huh?

Definately not fair! I don't think anyone blames you for tripping the wire, so please don't feel bad about it. You have been blessed. While others may not have been able to take leave, they still could have submitted applications long before they were out. Most of the soldiers were most definately screwed, though.
