Guys and Gals, You ever have stress build up to the point that you will either A) expel noxious fumes in Starker's proportions in a crowded elevator? or B) Randomly fly off the handle in a public forum and threaten eminent cyber self destruction and humiliation of others? C) Both. Well, thankfully I have a lifetime supply of liquid cork health beverage and have not exercised option A. However, to those that were affected / will be affected by my tirade yesterday, I extend my m
Here's another interesting observation - The op isn't 'bitching' (to use your expression) about having to use Impulse. His complaint is about not being able to download any skins after reaching his limit.
Well excuse the f#%*k out of me for pissing in your garden Hankers. I made an observation. This thread isn't in the support section and isn't restricted to varying degrees of the topic. JFC... I've been sitting back on the sidelines for the most part
Take a look for yourself: http://www.impulsedriven.com/ip5
So I did just that.. Here is an interesting observation from that link. It lists Impulse requirements. It does NOT say you need impulse to install. And you wonder why so many people bitch about Impulse...
Description IconPackager
I simply chatted with HP and asked for a copy of the recovery software on DVD for my notebook and they sent me a copy.
They MAY want to charge for them however. I've dealt with them on several occasions and it depends on who you get ahold of.
A refund and store ban might save SD time and money. Some people are in situations where no amount of effort will resolve the issue.
Good Grief. This is a PAYING customer that despite repeated contacts with support has yet to have his issues resolved. Yes, he's pissed. The "unless you do this/I'll do that" remark by him was not in good form but c'mon. We all know that quite often the support SYSTEM at SD is less than stellar due to the fact that every time you

Ive never been able to get impulse to work through our proxy server either. Fortunately I have the authority to bypass our proxy and open our firewall when I want to use impulse. At the very least, I would like to see Stardock offer clear concise instructions for opening Impulse through MS ISA 2006. However, you are not in a position to bypass your proxy and there is most likely zero legit business reasons for having Windowblinds installed on a work PC. You should accept
a "generic" trojan.

is this something I'll have to cancel my bank card and/or change my passwords over
Probably not, however.. please be advised that if you are using generic trojans there is a substantial increase in the risk of breakage. I've never known anyone to have to change their bank cards and passwords due to pregnancy but there is no law opposing such action that I know of.
but that won't happen if you get a reputation for being a complainer
Indeed.. take it from me, I also know that story quite well and have written many chapters. Isn't hindsight a wonderful curse :)

I hope your crystal ball is accurate for your sake. Just remember (which I'm sure you do) how OS2 was leaps and bounds above Windows and what came of that. Android is a spawn of Google which could present the same outcome as the aforementioned scenario could it not?

I agree with reply #2. I see ipad as a quickly passing phase which will be dominated by Android. Until Apple loosens the grip and allows its OS to be installed on 3rd party hardware they will remain a limited vendor.
When deciding what to invest in going forward,
So does this mean less investment in the Windows customization line?
The whole point of making programs like Windowblinds was to change the look of windows. Which it does. But the only things it really changes well are the taskbar, start menu, and the other windows-specific windows. There are still some part of the folder windows that don't skin properly.
amen to that. When Vista came out my WB enjoyment started declining. There are some great skins since then but they don't leave you 100% thrilled anymore due to the limitations imposed
Like Objectbar?
OBar WOULD have been great except for the total lack of any coherent tutorials/documentation. It now lies festering at the bottom of a stinky pile of could have beens..
Pardon me for stating the obvious, but what did you expect?
JC.. Just for the record, Winstep is a golden piece of software that has made my system experience a much more pleasant one. In no way was I putting down your software or the other good ones. The POS that I grabbed a few days ago is called Garbage Cleaner. Don't know why I tried it as CCleaner is the top dog. But I digress.
having a devil of a time getting DesktopX 4 out the door as-is
Unless I missed something I don't think you guys did a single thing to fix DesxtopX 4 after you received feedback from it. How could it possibly have a chance? Heck, I think Redneck Dude still uses 3.5, and if he can't use DX4 then .... I would love to see new stuff but even more..., I'd love to see the core stuff working and more promises kept when it comes to the announcements/goals. Good luck on w

Ok, I re-installed. This time it did work as you said it would. The first time it did NOT. Turning off animations also fixes the issue. Hopefully that will be fixed as it is one of the prime cool features of FX.
