Speaking as one who has worked at a TV station in his past (Channel 7 in Prescott AZ, to be exact... I filmed the weather in high school!), let me share my two cents... An X (or any other screen graphic, including pictures) can be generated by a person at a computer. It's the video switcher's job to put that graphic onto the screen or just put it up in a "preview" window. That way they can, well, preview the way the screen will look before a

Okay, now this is turning into a lovefest. I'm feeling all verklempt... What happened to the self-mortification over goo-hood? And I have no end of fun with Tex, Dharma, and the gang on Sesame Street... I mean, JU.

Loved serving in the Army. Recently separated afer six years of intel work. While I never went to a war zone, I feel I did my part, serving God and country. Watched as my friends came home without hands or worse, in coffins. Through my role in my church, spent days and nights trying to be a lay minister to the families left at home, too. Man, I feel for you and Dharma who are going to suffer through some long nights and worrisom

If it is Bush and or Cheney, they should be impeached! COL Johnny One Note, how about being open-minded and saying that if it was some mid-level intel officer then that person should be let go? Why does it have to be Bush or Cheney for you to be satisfied? Because of your blind utter disgust f

Latour999: Uh, he has been democratically elected twice and survived a recall, with large margins of victory, much larger than George Bush ever got. Are you saying that Chavez is more legitimate a president because he got a larger margin of victory? Then Saddam must be the most legitimate ru

Ouch. I saw the piece on FOX News this morning with the sound turned down, so thank you for filling in the details. I knew someone got fired, and they admitted it was a blatant act. But to openly admit it was a political statement... wow. That's ballsy. Chalk another one up for the 'unbiased' Mainstream Media! </

I think my favorite part is that he assumes his artistic talent will move on to his offspring. And that if the offspring is Jewish (reference Coen Brothers?), then it's a lock for an Academy Award. As if "The Brown Bunny" is worthy of anything but scorn in the first place. Just another self-absorbed, narcissistic moron who loves attention.

I stop at a local restaurant parking lot (Village Inn on 9th East & 4th South for Dev and ParaTed) For the record, I have eaten at that Village Inn a couple of times. Right at the base of the hill leading to the University and Foothill Blvd. Is the Training Table still there on 4th South too?

That is a great, uplifting tale. What a conversion story and a solid testimony. I am with you and Mr. Fountain and Tova, too. Start my day off right, thank you very much!

Recently dharmagrl posted a great email conversation with Vincent Gallo. She offered him some advice on "The Brown Bunny", his latest film, and he offered her a proposition for her to show him her boobies. Classy guy. Real piece of work. "Would you show this man your ta-ta's?" So anyway

Just visit Globalsecurity.org and do a bit of browsing AngelaMarie, you would be surprised and shocked to see what actually is unclassified and available for the public. As would your father-in-law, apparently.

The Closest thing to a true democracy exists in the towns of Vermont. True democracy exists when all voters weigh in on all issues. Just not feasible, except on a very small scale. That's why it is called "representative democracy". And Ted, way to represent! Utah! Whoop whoop! :CONGRAT

I don't know more about any case than the actual jury. They are the ones who, through the responsibility of their position, have examined every nook and cranny of a case. At least what the lawyers/judiciary let them see... And even then, after a rare guilty verdict and an even rarer death sentence, the case is reviewed ad nauseam by appellate courts and even the supreme court of the state. They are the final judges to see a death se

Is having facial hair a preferred trait in a dictator? Not for the Kim family in North Korea. Kim Jong Il just loves the bouffant hairdo, though. Some other things Saddam has done for Iraq: Established Iraq's 'street cred' by invading TWO countries! (Iran, 1980-88; Kuwait, 1991

Saddam Hussein was president and ruler of Iraq from 1979 until his removal and capture after the 2003 invasion of Iraq. So let's take a look back at his contributions to his native land... He worked hard to beautify his country! Look at all the lovely palaces that dot the bleak Iraqi landscape. He tried to eliminate poverty and unemploymen

It's all George Bush's fault. All politicians are whores. Whichever side of the aisle. Who but the investigative muckrakers from Salon magazine would have the time or the motivation to chronicle the exploits of the Right?

Sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully you'll be solid and strong for your family. We should all be so lucky to live to 87! Both my grandmothers are still alive but not for many more years. My dad's mother is 94 and my mom's mother is 84. Both are as hale and hearty as they can be for their ages. My mother's husband recently passed at 91. (Don't ask, long story.) Your grandmother was truly blessed to have a great and long life
