I don't normally watch much TV, but a show on the making of the Alien movie caught my attention for its reference to H R Giger and his artworks Apart from one piece that someone had turned into a wallpaper, I knew nothing about this great artist so did a search and came up with this site.....familiar with Giger's art or not, it's worth a look.

BTW, the making of 'Alien' is currently showing on Foxtel's Showtime network for those interested in the Giger connection.

I'm not much of a poster person. Still have the original lp. thats enough for me. What got me was it said the print was "inspired" by the ELP album cover. Was it not his work?

Yeah, it's his work. I used to have some images of several designs he was working with for that album cover before deciding on what we see today, but I'm not sure if I still do.

I used to have it but my memory fails me right now...Tarkus the Tank, was that Emerson, Lake & Plamer? Rings a bell but not quite sure, and I'd like to order it cos stuff like that just ain't kept on the shelf anymore. Thanks

Tapper - Good stuff! I wish those were higher quality images, though.

Starkers - Yeah, Tarkus is from ELP. Link

Tapper, go here http://www.addis-welt.de/. Click on Smilies on the left and then on English in the upper right. Find a cool "emoticon" and save it to "My Pictures" or somewhere. Now go here http://www.imageshack.us/. Click on browse and find that image you just saved. There will be a number of links that pop up, but go to the one that says "direct link to your image". Right click and copy it. Click on the "image" tab on this forum and paste your link in the box. submit.

Starkers, r you an ELP fan also?

Absolutely, now my thinking cap's been found I've made the connection to Tarkus the album. Been a while since I heard anything of theirs....lost over 450 CD's in a break in a coupla years back, been hard replacing them al
.
Maybe he's just an Alien fan

Yep, one of those, too.....have all movies on VHS.....cash permitting, an upgrade to DVD is one of my next projects, along with a few other fav movies....'The Hidden' with Kyle Mc Lachlan being one of them. I've been a sci-fi nut since the early days of Dr Who in the 60's.

Also, Thanks for the smiley link, SD, my wife and I (more the wife) will enjoy rummaging around there.

Peace and joy to all

Keep trying, Tapper. I hijacked someone's thread and made 10 or 15 posts until I got it right. You're welcome, starkers. There sure are a lot of them over there.
