Should WinCustomize support IM goodies?

AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Instant Messenger, etc. have all kinds of interesting "goodies" that you can download of them. Avatars, Emoticons, Winks, Backgrounds, etc. And probably even more than we're thinking of.

The question is, should WinCustomize have a section to support these kinds of things? Let us know.

The more I think on it the more I don't see how it would work, take msn backgrounds for starters, you can't use .eps or any other vector file to let you scale the image smoothly, so it has to be, a what usually ends up as a distorted bitmap, and there is no size requirements, no file too big, no file too small. What would be the official size you'd be required to upload them as? And how many people use the same size window anyway? It'll just end up like a new wallpapers section and without heavy moderation will more than likely end up with people simply resubmitting their walls in smaller format, and a ton of people getting those "groovy" pictures they ripped off the web and spamming them on here too. Emoticons and display pictures I could do without as well, unless you like the idea of ending up like deviant art getting 30 submissions a day of a johnny depp gif that alternates between 2 pictures with text saying "but why is the rum gone?, but why is the rum gone?, but why is the rum gone?"

I just don't see this one working out.

maybe have a place for everything else except yahoo and aol....there are thousands of sites out there with aol and yahoo themes...including mine....yahoo is just like skinning windowblinds and aim is just like writing a webpage.....something simple that anyone can do....plus aim gets skinned when you put on a windowblinds...so why make something that gets skinned and matches the skin on your desktop?...but maybe other programs that dont have skins should be put up to at least show that they can be done....

I think it would be kinda cool to be able to skin yahoo. I don't use it much, but the kidsa are always whining about how it's the only thing not skinned. All in all, I would like to see a section about IM's. When does it start?

yahoo gets skinned alot...more then trillian....theres alot of sites out there with yahoo 5 and 6 skins....so putting skins here at wincustomise for yahoo would be stupid....now skins for other applications like trillain and msn that would be good...but everyone says theres a crap load of these at deviantart....so why put something up here that somewhere else already has? people can just go there and get them...it would be the same as putting them up here...and most people would just transfer the skins from one site to the other...which is kinda stupid to do that....so really msn is the only app without skins...and for one app would be a kind of a waste

NO WAY -- AOL is one of the Biggest pain in the butts I've ever seen with all the garbage they hide and cram down your throat without your knowledge.My sister had it and it took days to free up her machine and clear out all of the JUNK!

YEAh ofcourse you should, because the designers here are very good and innonative and creative they would build very nice goodies
