WindowBlinds 4 - Umm, where is it?

WindowBlinds 4 - Umm, where is it?

Okay, maybe everyone is tired of people asking about this, but it's been 11 days since we were told about it and still no WindowBlinds 4. I have been checking Component Manager everyday since Jan. 12th and still nothing. What's going on?

Where is WB4???

And Thornz - no, I'm still not getting those little watermark-esque images in my explorer window.

I read everyone saying the WB(alpha)4 is displaying in the "component manager as 3.90"

My question is this, what and where do I find this component manager?

You get Component Manager with a subscription to Wincustomize.com

If you're interested, go here: https://store.stardock.com/order.asp

If you purchased WB3 separately, then no, I don't believe so. All updates until new major version number. Subscription give you updates for everything, all version upgrades though the term of your subscription.

Component Manager comes with an Object Desktop subscription. https://www.stardock.com/products/

"Thank you again werewolf. I have purchased WB, but not subscrbed to Wincustomize."

dont confuse the two, a wincustomize subscription and a OD subscription are two different things.

I'm clear on it. I purchased WB3 as a seperate component. I didn't get the whole Object Desktop. And I do understand that there is a difference between those two and a Wincustomize subscription.

Well, now I need to decide on the subscription to Wincustomize, or WB4. Judging by the pricing, Wincustomize subscription seems to be a good choice.

Othere then WB updates and the skinbrowser, what else does the Wincustomize subscription get me?

I'm disappointed......... I realize this is an alpha, but toolbars in certain apps that were skinned previously, are now not skinned, and I thought the tool pallettes would be skinned, but they look more default than before.

yep gives me good reason as proof to my wife why I updated my ODNet
subscription too

kosasati, are you using the wb4 skins or older ones? Theres lots of lil problems where graphics are where they didnt use to be, and missing in areas they were before on my machine, but I think this is just because the skins are for a previous version.

if youve got the wb4 skins, then i suggest you play with the options some more, they skin everything 3.5 did and more so far as I can tell.

I'm using Beacon........ here's another strange thing, in Display properties Beacon isn't in the list. (maybe it needs a second reboot)
Can anyone tell me why some options are in the Config, and some in Display properties? Shouldn't all settings be in Config?

i had to reboot and install a few times before mine worked at all, not sure why

perhaps new options they figure will be used more often should be easy access, and all the old ones that crusie from build to build are left in config  I dont like opening config at all, but then Id rather not see that long list of options stuffed in a small display window.

Uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted, checked all settings I can locate........ (this is why I would prefer ALL settings be in one place, I'm always wondering if I've missed something, stuck in some odd spot.)
Personally I would rather use the Config, rather than the Display properties.

No change, and Display prperties lists skins I don't even have, as well as not listing skins I do have.

have you tried un-installing and deleting the whole directory? (leftovers not removed, like skins). If that doesnt at least fix your skin list then its prob not your fault

phreak_of_nature, be careful there, warewolf made a typo I think:
a Wincustomize subscription WILL NOT get you any Stardock software. What Werewolf meant to say is a "OBJECT DESKTOP" subscription!!! Don't go getting a Wincustomize subscription thinking you'll get Windowblinds alpha, there!

SH!T!!
I did just purchase the Wincustomize subscription, and I am poking around in all the corners and can't find a component manager.

sorry phreak, I was going to say something more but didnt wish to pry into your reasons for buyng the wincustomize subscription, my apologies email stardock and see if they can get it switched for ya.

I apologize profusely I did indeed make a typo. Wasn't thinking while typing. Phreak, if you contact support and tell them this was all my fault, I'm sure they will fix it for you. Really sorry about that.
