I think it would be a good idea for DA to periodically eliminate any galleries that haven't been used within a set period of time. They should also eliminate accounts that no longer have valid email addresses attached to them.

I hit twice as it looked like it wasn't going to go at all...

That would be a good idea for DA, for the good of those that really like to visit and use what they have there.
But as I understand it, the just don't eliminate accounts, even if you ask them to!

On my site, mxskinz.com. I eliminate the skins after awhile if they are not very popular. I think its beneficial to my visitors not to have to wait eternities to move around one place to the next. (Now I have to seriously redesign the site to accomodate all size resolutions *sigh*)

I think DA is so slow because they are bogged down with too much garbage that should be eliminated.
Sorry that you are faced with more work for your site, but change can be beneficial for everyone, and I'm
a big believer in changes for the better....

DevArt's usually pretty swift for me. At other times though... Long live the small sites. Can always get there.

my basic problem with the connection speed and page loading isn't that it is slow, it is that it times out.

i am not quite sure where the problem lies, but failure to load long pages from WC is something i am quite familiar with.

with regard to the "flow" of a discussion over multiple pages, would it help if the last post on page one was also the first post on page 2, etc?

Doubt it. You need the full conversation, not the last sentence.

okay /me explored... (and is on a diff machine again)

works good for ppl on one machine and logged in, me bounces between diff machines and does not always log in on them cuz sometimes I simply cruise around several sites whilst one eye is babysitting a filtering report (so I don't feel like logging in) and if you don't log in you end up on page one again or if you clear cookies right?(me don't like it) but I'm sure it will be better for the other ppl here cuz it takes you to where you left off on a faster load time...

it's just I like simplicity on a board cuz I bounce around too much and don't like to figure things out when I'm busy (and lazy on extra clicking too) plus I don't like loggin in & out on sev machines or you'll find my two lil boys in your "I'm listening to: threads" if I forget to log back out! hehe
