Approx 98% of submitted Bryce or Terragen makes it to the cutting room floor, and about 2% gets in.
59% of what gets in is still 'not great'...the other 50% is much in the method of MobiusCo...that is, you wouldn't even know it was via Bryce if he hadn't told you.
So, 1% of the submissions actually use the programs as a tool, not as 'the artist'.
We intend to retro-actively sift through the 2000-odd walls and make amends with regards to what has managed to be accepted in the past...to keep consistency with current 'high' standards/criteria.
It is important again to stress that the wallpapers are an 'adjunct' to the skins and not a prime focus.
When it is comparatively easy to 'create something that looks like a wall' it is clear we get inundated with their submissions.
In comparison,a LiteSTEP theme tends to be more 'complex' in creation and is more a 'niche' market so we get about one or two a week...no fear of being swamped there...
If walls were not moderated here, the popularity of the site would have led to a wall section more like 20,000 than 2,000....and the visitor/user would be pushing the proverbial uphill to find the 'good' from amongst the sea of 'bad'.
It's not 'hypocrisy' that the bar has been raised, but merely a transitional stage that makes it appear 'strange'...
