Some ideas i have for a mod. I am not a modder but i think someone will be intrested.


IDEAS:             
     1)new starbases constructed by the costruction ships like now. 3 types of starbases: civilian starbase, military starbase, superweapon starbase                  
     2)new cruisers: experimental weapon cruiser, repair and refuel cruiser, long range cruiser
     3)new capships: havy weapons capship,**planet manipulation capship**, outpost deploying capship
     4)**massive starship constructed from a construction cruiser with lots of weapon,armor,strike craft and abilitys upgrades**(phase capable)
                               
MORE SPECIFIC IDEAS
     1.1)civilian starbase only civilian upgrades:
[1]trade dock[2-4 stages]
[2]population upgrades[4 stages]

[6]diplomacy team [2 stages]  (targets ships and increases relationships)
[7]vasari: trade phase gate [1 stage]  (phase link only for trade ships instant travel)
[7]advent: anima extraction squads [2 stages]  (fighter squads helping in extraction)   
[7]tec: refinery dock [2 stages]  (refinery point, refinery income increased)
[8]vasari: nano rescurce collectors [2 stages]  (additional resurce income)
[8]advent: advansed antimatter manipulation [2 stages]  (refuells antimatter of all ships and stroctures in range)
[8]tec: replicator core [2 stages]  (produses crystal and metal)

[6]tec: ship building [2 stages]
[7]advent: loop [2 stages]  (traps an area of space into a chronical loop disabling all ships in range(in the second stage friendly ships arent afected))
[7]vasari: explosive nanites (nanites that stay at the shields and explode when they are down)
[7]tec: sensor distrupt signal [2 stages]  (significant lower chance to hit)
[8]disassembling team (beams a team aboard enemie vessel wich damages hull and gives credits to user)                  [9]shelf destruction

         1.3)superweapon starbase realy super powerfull weapons:
                              
[1]advent: damping plasma shoot (shoot that drains shields and weapon systems)
[1]tec: tesla coils (just a powerfull electric beam)
[1]vasari: shield deactivating warhead (weapon that when it hits enemy vessel it dissables its shields(very good againist advent))
[2]advent: planet takeover (a signal that makes an enemy planet with under 5000 population yours)
[2]tec: omega radiation (aoe damage)
[2]vasari: disrupt phase network (projectile that makes impossible the phase jump from-to the target planet)
[3]advent: throw antimatter reactor (a small thingy that causes super explosion)
[3]tec: multi beam array (it aims all starbases beams to a point and from there a powerfull beam destroys enemy vessels(something like the death star))
[3]vasari: black hole generator (wait what did i said? black hole? ok this ability damages all ships in range for a large period of time. also in the end it causes a wave that pusses enemy ships away)
[4]weapons upgrade
[5]new weapons systems
[6]armor upgrades
[7]experimental shields (increased shield mitgation)
[8]experimental strike craft docks  (new strike craft types)

     2.1)cruiser using the weapon the curent starbases weapons(disintegrator,beams,psionic surge)
     2.2)cruiser that can repair and antimatter refuell massive fleets(aoe passive abilitys)
     2.3)cruiser using new long range energy weapons
                          
                                            
     3.1)capship with massive weapon arrays and AOE abilitys
     3.2)capship that can trnsform planets from volcano\ice to desert and then to terain(idk if its possible if not then it will permanently improve the planets population and slots)
     3.3)capship that can deploy varius types of outposts and stationary weapon platforms

i dont know if im allowed to offer this butr me and jozanman as well as fredled are working on the same sort of thing if you want to work together.

i have made a heavy longrange cruiser for the advent and vasari the tec have a close up killer

heavybomber and heavy fighter for each one

a medium carrier

i have made pirates more useful late game by giving them the blue and green arcadia in raids and the same 2 plus my own at their homeworld so they cant be taken out as easy

Thanks for your offer but as i said i am not a modder (not yet anyways) the only thing i can offer is ideas(a ton of them)

me? i mainly work in rebalancing and correcting the developers mistakes.

so far i have:

a.made the repair platform,refinery,and trade platforms useful.

b.increased the mortality rates of ships,1-3 hits can easily destroy a frigate.

c.im thinking of something to do with capital ships,i never really liked them.

im currently rebuilding sins from the ground up.

using the bomb weapon effect as a heavy autocannon is very interesting might make a long range torpedo ship using the effect

i didnt do much,i just made it so that ship's hull point don't recharge,but shields still do.

maybe should make a platform that does shields to i have nothing else to do so i could make the meshes

i think we start with finding a way to put more than one starbase ingame then star working on it and if we want a break we make a structure or a ship

i can make the base mesh for the tec star base fairly good making their ships since their blocky but if there is mesh upgrades i dont know how to do that

what will the new long range weapons be?

if you agree with the idea of curse

for the 2.2 we can use the vasari repair cloud, the advent shield restore and something similar for antimatter

just with lower stats

 

for the messes i think we must try to make them with the style the factions use now

I've already implemented a civilian star base idea (see my Tangential Assimilation mod) and am trying to get my new race coded.  I've got ~1200 files all told, but no FX or meshes, as it is a 1 man project and I can only code...

i was never really fond of starbases,i like making mods for vanilla sins,gives me more memory to work with.

i can make meshes but i cant texture they end up looking horrible and all stretched out why i havent posted any screenies of the battleruiser lighter carrier and heavy bomber,fighter it just is a bunchof lines
