The only time a skin will be moved FROM the personal page to the main gallery is if it comes up for moderation again for a major update.

I think that was the answer.

also if a wall drops below 4 stars, it is automatically removed from the library, right?.

Not so.
I believe that once it's in the library it stays in the library unless a mod moves it.

I think the question was more "Why *can't* the migration FROM the personal gallery work the same way as being rated TO the gallery library?"
Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. All the rest are critics.

HEY NOW! let's not start gettin' personal here!

No, it does not automatically drop to the personal page.  If it's in the public gallery, barring some error in placing it there in the first place (or some other unforseeable issue), it remains in the public gallery.

The amount of stars doesn't move it from one place to another. To easy to gain or lose stars, so it could bop back and forth forever.

Hey Skinhit, the 4 stars for walls that has been talked about in other threads is the rating filter ( when they are working ) for unregistered users.

As long as I've been here the wallpaper argument has raged. If the standard is set too high wallpaper artists moan their walls shouldn't have been rejected and get all miffy. If the standard is zero, then people complain about the poor quality of the library and that they can't find a decent wall in a sea of tripe.

Whatever you do someone isn't going to be happy...

I'm still not over that "them than can do, them that can't teach" comment

Walls are not skinning.

Sorry Zubaz, but I have to beg to differ! When my kids were young I had to skin many a wall...with wallpaper, cos paint (even 2 or 3 coats) didn't completely cover the their doolding's done in crayon, texta and other substances children use to express their artistic flair.....

Shoulda know then my son would grow up to be a graffitti artist....he was the one who got arrested, fined $500 and made to perform 200 hours community service for writing; "F*k You Goverment Bastards" on the doors to Queensland's Parliament House in Brisbane....

He was miffed at being fined $50 for not registering to vote, and another $50 for failing to vote during a State Election. I could see his point, being that he had only become of voting age just 3 days before the election, however his response to the fines was somewhat extreme...funny but still extreme.

What miffed me most, I think, was his misspelling of government and leaving the C out of the eff word.....I'd taught English him better than that.

You can beg all you want, you still won't change my mind. But I *do* like to hear it.

Walls can be art, or artistic, or crap, but I think they are fundementaly different than a WB skin or DX theme.

Hey Skinhit, does this mean I'm 16 love? I did a post earlier in this thread but you had'nt answered, so I guess you must have been busy... I just wanted to let you know that there is another wallpaper on deviantART that i have finished.

The first thing most people change on a pc is the wallpaper. It's the first step on the customization ladder.

Sadly 99% of those still refer to a wallpaper as a 'screensaver'...

So true. How did that ever come about?

So you're telling me you never ever took to skinning the walls at your place after the kids got to 'em with crayons & textas?

Shoot, my kids did it so often, I got discount at the interior decorators store for being such a regular wallpaper customer....you know, something like frequent flyer points.

As for your thought on wallpapers here, I feel similarly to you....the site is primarily a skinning venue and, as such, its primary hosting should be for skins, though not exclusively. Skin specific walls should be hosted, of course, but I'm not too fond of the idea of walls for walls sake....like the same wall being uploaded half dozen times with just a minor variation on each, etc.

Without buying into the moderation debate, I'd hate to see WC's wall galleries become like those at deviantArt - where some bloke can upload a pic of his woman's arse in a thong bikini - but I still wanna see walls that are theme/suite specific - walls that are made by someone else to enhance, compliment various WB's & skins made by others, etc, etc. I also wanna see walls such as those by Kenwas, Teddybearcholla and others who have such great vision for fantasy scenes and the like....I just don't wanna see the gallery flooded by overly generic looking walls, stuff that resembles a quick scan of a Pokemon card out of a bubblgum pack, resized to 1024x768 and uploaded here.
