Oh 116 & 117... grayhaze & DM... ...I had a tough day, and wanted to read the latest on this thread...and I must say, I quite loved and admired your most 'humble' words... Warmed me up all over!!

Ahhh...I'll add one of the 'older' ones to the list...a ST.Pat's baby: Mar.17/57.
yrag : Thanks for the heads up on the 'stable' nvidia drives vs. 'not-so-stable'...I updated mine tonight after uninstalling the older batch. I also had the problem of my default driver popping up again in 5 seconds in sys.32 folder(and yes, it WAS 40.72. I just didn't know why it wouldn't "GO"!!)... and I also thought I was going bonkers! However, I couldn't get the NFR to download, so I just installed the newer 44.03 and when I checked after rebooting, the default driver 'disappeared
Major bummer. I'd be a tad bit 'frustrated',too!
I sent them a couple of questions just yesterday and got back a response today...They 'said' give 2 days, and they beat it by 1! I was grateful, and kinda' impressed. Sorry if you weren't so 'lucky'. Perhaps mine was a much simpler request to answer????...
To 5qu4ll ...I,too, am a 'Group 3-er', and I,too, like to come and read the 'meanderings' of people's thoughts and ideas. To all: I am new to the site and actually new to messaging. So far the members on THIS board have been really helpful to me. I wrote in about a couple of problems with my XP and got some great resources from the people who responded back to me. Unfortunately, I must admit that I was surprised at the generousity of these people who responded. There is a whole other
Thnks for the link, and I'll let you know what happens with WB4 for sure. Any other pointers are always welcome. I'm learning...
yes...it HAS occurred to me, and I've been trying differnt things (uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, reformatting, installing video drivers from scratch, moving around the mem. cards,...) and the problem DID occur with the 2 mem. cards more often when I played certain games. I haven't had much of a problem since I took out the 'new' mem. card until now, when I just installed the WindowBlinds 3.3 yesterday. I upgraded to the 4 this morning, so the verdict's still out on this one (if it's partl
Thnx "DJ"...I'm kind of a rookie here...I unchecked the auto restart no problem, I'm not understanding the 'complete stop error and stop codes' part! My focus has been on photo editing, so I appreciate the help on THIS technical stuff, and want to learn. And yes, the link didn't work, so I'll try the search. I SO appreciate your time and 'effort' at helping me, jsut so you know. I'm also new to messaging, and am quite amazed at how helpful people can be! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/im
Just read the activation message from you...I upgraded to N Nvidia GeForce video card, AND I added the 256 ram shortly afterwards...??? After the Nvidia card was added, I had to reformat entirely, because I kept getting automatic reboots all the time, and got the message (from microsoft)that it was due to 'device driver' problems...after reformatting, it STILL happened, so I took out the new mem. card, and it's better... ?? Now what? I'd still like more mem., and I'm thinking about adding a
thnks for the link! I've tried the 1st elimination list before this, but the other articles and stuff sent in by other users there might help...
I have XP Pro., and when I added another 256 mem card to bring my total mem. to 512, I had HUGE freezing AND automatic rebooting probems. When I took out the 2nd (new) card, it took about a week before my system 'calmed', and the freezing and automatic rebooting quit.I was told it was probably a bad mem. card? XP apparently is extremely sensitive to ANY slight driver and/or mem. 'problems' or 'bugs', as it uses any extra ram that you put in as opposed to other OS's that don't necessarily make
I have 256mb mem., and Nvidia GeForce video card, and yes, "The DJ"...you have a point! I mean a sudden reboot! It WAS with v.3.3, and just this morning I upgraded to v.4 , so I guess I'll have to try changing skins a few times to see if it happens again! Thnx for responding!
I just installed Win.Blinds yesterday, and when I go into Display to change a skin, a couple of times now my computer has crashed. Not ALWAYS or every time, but a few times after I click 'Apply' when I've chosen a different skin. Anyone know what's up? Thnx...
Luv your "Summer Dreams"...I'm new to the whole site, and am SOOOO hooked. I've been checking out everything, and am amazed at this whole 'other cyber world' of skins, cursors, etc.! Lately I've been concentrating on photo-editing, but this stuff is SO FUN! Anyway...just wanted you to know that the blues&greensof your skin is great. Thnks... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gi
