For some reason, my icon labels on my desktop always have a coloured 'box' around them now. Some of the icons themselves even have an outline of this same colour. When I click on the icon, it highlights a wee bit, and the coloured box with the icon label type will highlight to the secondary colour of the skin. How can I get rid of this colour around the type of the icon labels? I've gone into display, control panel, My Computer visuals, etc., but nothing seems to work. I'm running XP Pro.<br

18" NEC MultiSync LCD 1860NX...digital...VERY nice! Great picture quality...am happy with it. Got a great deal...same price as an analog Samsung 17" (which I traded in for it). Glad I made the switch, and the saved desktop space alone makes the LCD SO worth it!

I appreciate the tips, here...I didn't know about a 'master' 'power strip', and it DOES sound like something I really ought to have (like you guys have recommended). I have some nice equipment, and realize now how I can protect it much more thoroughly! Thanks. The site said that to use the Scangear driver for this scanner, one had to have Adobe Photoshop 7.0 installed ("to use this plug-in")...I have this Photoshop version (not installed yet because I just got my computer built) but can anyone tell me how installing the photoshop would make my scanner driver work? What's the connection?

Did the FAQ route...nothing there on it at all. Just going to double check the scanner drivers now. They SHOULD be up-to-date as the scanner was just released a short time ago. (maybe a month?)...

Hi there...I need some input, please from anyone who has a Canonscan 5000F. I know this isn't a skins 'problem', but you've helped me before! The light in the scanner seems to stay on all the time, even when not in use. It also stays on even when the computer is turned off. My former scanner did not do this. Is this supposed to be? Well...I sure appreciate all the input here. Gives me much to chew on. A friend of mine is offering me a great deal on a Samsung 172B (17"), and I've been 'testing' it out. So far, I'm impressed. to #32: yes & yes...Since I've updated my nvidia drivers, I decided to put back in the 2nd 256 ram card that seemed to be giving me so much trouble before, and lo' & behold, so far NO REBOOT problem!
