Hi, I noticed today that when your opponent in a Ranked match quits, you instantly get all of the achievements for "Winning without power," "Winning without life support," etc. I also got the Majority Buy achievement without buying any stock (lol).
I did use a Hologram on a finished Patent Lab, although I don't remember whether this was right after finishing the lab. Thanks Insync for finding a way to reproduce the bug and advance thanks to Soren for the hotfix.

The last low aluminum tile was in the water patch to the right of PBHead's base, about 7 or 8 tiles away. It was a low alu/low water tile. I did not take note of how many iron tiles were nearby. I agree especially that #2 is bad and ought to be fixed (thanks Soren! :D) If the cancel claim mechanic is strictly in the game to prevent misclick-issues, then I think the geo-cancel thing is a problem. If you want to just interpret it as a mechanic like any other, then it's not a big deal. Had this same issue and later found out that a button (probably the same toggle button being mentioned above, default "`") will switch you between available resources and the buy/sell resources menus.
Suggestion that might have given Wino more information during the solar-panel-dynamite thing: While buildings are under construction away from your base, make the freighter lines blink on and off. (So blackmagic's geotherm in construction would have been visible to Wino if he selected BM's base.) Also potentially useful, and following the same general idea : assign a neutral color to indicate empty claims away from a player's base (Grey?).

Out of curiosity what do the ranks mean? Ie what's the difference between being recorded as rank 1 or rank 2? Is that for queuing purposes, or for calculating points? Curious
Preface from retrospect-land: Sorry if this comes off harshly; I don't mean it in that way. This would make Magnetic Storms by far the best black market item in the game. Even if the goods are resent from the base, waiting for ten or fifteen seconds for some steel you need to build an offworld or upgrade to fly over to your base is painful, especially in 1v1s where the metagame currently boils down to racing to level 5 and constructing an offworld. <
