Interesting; even on VP the AI counters my high production units with hacker arrays of their own. Also keep in mind the prices can easily hit highs depending on map resources. I had a game the other day where there were only 7 silicone piles, many robotics players, and needless to say, I rushed the piles, researched teleport and slant drilling asap, and silicon, glass, and electronics were all $500 + as early as day 4.

Thanks InSync, I didn't have this issue prior to Beta 7 (this machine has played all previous Betas no issue) so didn't know about those options. I added the parameters you mentioned and confirmed Beta 7 launched in DX9 mode and it works just fine now! Thanks much, looks like family Mars time is back on.
One of the machines I play on is a laptop- lenovo v570. Has been playing fine but now beta 7 it crashes with send error report to Microsoft when trying to launch a game. Multi, single, daily challenge, they all crash. It's windows 10, and has an Intel HD 3000 graphics chip, if that is of assistance. I rolled that one back to beta 6 and continue to enjoy beta 7 on the desktop pc, also same win10 build, same 3rd party security suite, etc, so am assuming it is graphic
I think its good as is. Consider; Trade's are executed instantly in real life. You can sell without possessing the goods in real life, also. There are ways to counter the shortages- sell your goods into the shortage. Sell at the announcement and the shorter then loses top dollar prices, as you set a lower floor. The fundamental aspect of real time strategy games is to make split second decisions. Take advantage of the market. Manipulate it. That is the ga
Noticed that if a building is near the edge of the screen, and I click on it, the popup window for it appears to show up relative to the building itself, always centered and above, which can sometimes put it off screen. Not a huge issue, but may be worth adjusting where the display pops up to be relative to building location on the screen, so that if the building is at the top of my screen, the popup may show below the building so that the contents are all visible.
If you're playing at a skill level where the game feels easy enough to build entirely self sustaining, try increasing the difficulty, dropping map size, or even dropping the resources. As is, a straight up "random" game, imo, has too many resources for a challenge. There's usually plenty of resources for everyone to have several claims on each.
Beta 4 has made the game very dynamic. Adjust style of play to the sabotages available. For instance, if you see no underground nukes, but see emp/nv/powersurge, then why not split up little up for the 3 stacks and spread the risk. I try to avoid map reveal as its just too tempting to pounce into debt. I can easily buy the first 3 or 4 auctions with the same or less debt than an early found, and they are much more useful than a preferred spot on the ma
ok thanks!
when attempting to change my handicap in multiplayer, all difficulties show the same stats from the easiest (5 claims, 1x debt multiplier..) however, the handicap does change it just isn't reflected in the lobby when hovering over. Difficulty change works just fine in single player. I own two copies of the game, and this issue is affecting both with completely different platforms so doesn't seem hardware related. should I be able to adjust ai difficulty or build
I beg of you to leave the randomness random! Games that have massive resources mean dispersed mines, less effective underground nukes, over saturation of the market, and more. Sometimes its nice to have a map flush with resources, but some of the most fun and intense rounds are fighting over limited resources. Having to cluster mines for the proximity bonus on top of one-stack minerals becomes necessary, and that's what makes this game great-- different styles of play and tactics dependin
Even though it is still in beta, it is well worth their current asking price. Very fun game as is. Plus if you jump in beta, you can get some input in that may or may not affect the end product.
