I've had this idea for a while now since I was getting annoyed by how home systems work for custom races. Why not add a system that is in with making a custom race that allows a player to design their home starsystem within the game. I know you can do it in the XML, but even there you have to change the default. If you make a separate entry and put in the homeworld name or star name of that entry when you make a race it works like it would if you didn't even edit the XML. So obviousl

and the taking of ships wont happen either it jsut doesnt mesh right with the current system of combat They had it in SMAC, which is almost exactly the same as this game. Spy units could "bribe" things or their was units with pirate modules in the sea that had a chance to capture a unit instead of killing it. It would work.

I noticed people on this board and others complaing about the AI being agressive. I notice that this isn't a problem with the Arceans. They send massive fleets of ships combined with around 8 transports in my last game to attack my planets on NORMAL difficulty. I think the AI is agressive, its just that certain races dont do so well. Like how the Drengin ALWAYS fail to do anything in the game. Its always the Altarian, Torians, and Arceans. Everyone else does below average or worse.

Saw this on another board and this guy hits the nail on the head. 1. AI does never specialise its planets, i.e. no planets that only have factories to produce ships quickly. 2. AI does spend inane amounts of money and resources on static defenses, i.e. the ships in orbit. Mobile warfare is much cheaper though and with unrestricted movement it's definitely advantageous to have ships moving around in fleets and meeting the enemy in open combat than waiting for him to assemble

I have never seen the vapour trail. I noticed the option to turn it on or off in the options, and mine is on, but I've still never seen it. Ya I was confused by their adding an option for it when it doesn't even work. Thats why I thought it was my computer, since obviously they seem to think that the trails work in the game.

Their should be more special ability devices on this game. As of now its all utility devices simular to how unit design was used on SMAC. Like trade modules, colony modules, and things like that. What I want to see is something, for example, that i could use to maybe have a small chance of taking enemy ships? Or if you attack freighters you can get some money? For example if you leave a ship on a trade route with this specific modules you get a certain percentage of the trade income. Also what a

Fixed my typo, lol. Ya if you played beta they had something like a vapor trail, nothing like homeworld but it was cool none the less. I was just wondering if it was a bug or my hardware. I noticed that a lot of eyecandy like that in this game is buggy.

I dont agree with you You can argue that the sky isn't blue and the grass isn't green all you like, doesn't make it true. Their are NO ships in 40k. Only "aircraft" if you play forgeworld. You obviously dont know what Battlefleet Gothic is as well. Their is ABSOLUTELY no way to make the game into 40k, as it would REQUIRE ground

I was invading the torians and thalans, taking their planets, and notice they they build their planets COMPLETELY idiotically. They load them up with embassys, build no factories, and put structures on important resources that dont take advantage of them. Also they will build wonders on these as well. Another thing that annoys me is that they like to build insane fleets of fighters, but i assume if they didn't build idiotic shit on their planets that this would be solved.

compaire it to SMAC, thx. The game is literally smac in space. I would post a compairison like you did but every category would be the same besides the fact that SMAC takes place on an alien planet where this is in space.

It would be like making a Battlefleet Gothic mod really as their are no ships in 40k and this isn't a ground combat game.
