When killed, heroes go into a city and are invisible. Click on your cities to see if there are units inside (they are visible as small round icons in the city view on the left bottom of the screen).

Is there a shortage of avatars on this forum? There are at least 3 people with this "ghost-face" avatar. Never mind, I just realized that this is the default avatar....LOL. I would prefer a blank default avatar like other forums.

OK I solved the problem by downloading the game from Stardock using my serial number as I saw somewhere on this forum. But I would like to know why uninstalling the game prevents re-installing it. Henri

I had the same problem, and also with the game Hearts of Iron - I previously uninstalled both games to make space). I tried removing registry items (dangerous if you don't know what you are doing) and everything else I could think of. I wasted almost a whole day trying. Finally I saw a message on the forum that said that if you have a serial number you can download Galciv (about 90 mb) from the Stardock site. I did that and it worked. When I try to reinstall Galciv, the screen freezes when I press the intall button. I saw on the forum that I can download the full game from Stardock here if I have my serial number, but I can't find a place on stardock to do that. Henri ~SDC~

The easiest way to increase your range beyond what it is is to colonize a new planet or a starbase near the border. This increases your influence in the area, and thus increases your range, which I believe is measured from your nearest planet. Henri

In my games, the slider originally always shows half of the population of the planet on the ship. If you are going to crash-create a number of colony ships by borrowing, you may want to decrease this number to avoid reducing your original planet to 100 people! Henri

Be careful with this if you are playing with scarce planets. At first you will get more money, but when that runs out, you will end up with a debt that can bankrupt you if your money-making has not increased enough to handle it.The whole idea is predicated on the principle that whenpayback times around, your economy will be so large that this money will be negligible. :sniff!:
