[WARNING! RANT] For ages now I've seen all sorts of great WindowBlinds skins, but there always seems to be one thing that drives me nuts. I'll download a really nice looking skin of any colour, and or shade, but for some reason the Author has decided to keep that glaring white background colour inside the windows. Come on. That colour does not, and should not be white when nothing else in the skin is. I understand that people have gotten used to seeing their icons sitting on a white

I would like to see a RightClick section. I've been very excited about this program, and it's future. I'd also like to see a section for the various Mozilla programs. Perhaps a tutorial section for graphics/skinning, and another for scripting/xml since these things are all a big (and growing) part of the whole skinning phenomenon.

Thank you Frogboy. As a non-American it's completely dreadful for those of us that come to a site and end up having to read about US politics and foriegn policy. It's all over the papers, and TV (In Canada at least) already. I come here to get away from that stuff. I appreciate that it is important, but I don't think this is the place for it.

So Frogboy, does this mean that Stardock apps will begin to have cooler looking interfaces? I was trying out RightClick just before reading this news post, and thought it would be very cool to see the new programs (and of course The Stardock big names) using Impression Creator style interfaces for their preferences and such. It would be very cool having the Stardock apps looking as sweet as the effects they produce. Not to mention it would set Stardock products apart from almost everything el

Hey there DesktopX wizzards, I'd like to make an object that changes color based on a value. I'll use the example of a disk space meter, but I assume technique would be similar no matter what the chosen 'meter' is. Ok, here's the thing... Let's say I have a graphic. We'll say a green circle. Now I'd like the graphic to slowly change from green to say yellow to orange to red depending on the amount of disk space used (Ok, maybe a memory meter would be a more exciting example.) Could

Nope, don't like it. I thought it was great before. One other thing. I wish SDC could differentiate between DesktopX, and DesktopX Pro. There's been a couple times that it tells me about an update, but I forget, and end up with the normal version after updating.

I believe the main reason is that DesktopX doesn't (or atleast didn't) work with active desktop. They don't play nice at all. Because WindowBlinds is made to be part of Object Desktop it only stands to reason that it would be made to be as friendly as possible with the other applications in the suite. Therefore having wallparers be biitmaps means Active desktop will never HAVE to be turned on.

I would love to see a text object that would show the word of the day with it's definition on the desktop. I'm sure it would be a snap for anyone with DX2 that knows scripting. Here's a website that gives the word of the day. I hope someone with some skill likes the idea. http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/

does sndvol32 support window messages (I think that's waht it's called) like winamp does? If so then it should be easy enough for someone to make a volum control plugin. I was messing around with DXplayer, but I couldn't seem to get it to work the way I wanted it to. I want a verticle fader for Windows main volume, and I can't seem to get it to work. I'm probably just missing something. I someone has an example of a DXobject like the one I'm describing could you send me a link so th

This may be a very silly question, but is there an easy way (plugin) to make a bitmapped volume slider (like that generic gradient LED look) for the Play Control (or Main Volume)? I've been rooting around trying to figure it out, but so far I can only figure out how to do it for ObjectMedia. If there isn't any easy way would someone be willing to provide a script to do it. I'd be more than happy to supply the graphics.

I agree that desktopX has the potential to be a very powerful app, but for those of us that are less programmer oriented it doesn't offer nearly as much as some of the other apps out there. I really wish I knew scripting, but I have had a rough time trying to learn. It's frustrating when I know what I want to do, and can make it look awesome, but can't get it to work right.

Does anyone know where to find the .ini file (assuming there is one) that sets the key prefs for the MS Multimedia keyboard? I got one for Christmas, and there are just some things with it that drive me nuts (like the PrtScn button only works with the F Lock turned off, etc...) there are things that I'd love to be able to monkey with, but don't know how. Any help would be appreciated.

I've recently subscribed to Wincustomize.com, and was wondering how to download the premium skins. I installed the skin browser, but couldn't fingure out where to look. Could someone explain it really slowly since I must have reverted back to newbie status or something to not be able to figure this out on my own?
