Why does this feel like a trap? "Hey guys show me your planets... for reasons... I totally don't have an armada on the way and looking for prime real estate."
Hi, I'm slightly confused. The planet was defended just a bit (notably by nightmare missile powered ships with 144 attack) and anyway with 20 Arcaean starbases round it, any intruder would be slowed to a near halt&nb

Hi, I know that under the earlier versions people used to develop huge populations, especially of robots but since the planet class cap was introduced this has got harder. Now we have a new toy the "Chimeric Biomass" to increase the class of a planet and the min distance between star bases has been reduced so they can be served by far more star bases (potentially up to 36 in the endgame if you're pragmatic and so increase the radius by 2 and add in the support field mastery te

Hi again, In fact pieces seem to be getting stuck when the hyperlane path is a perfectly good one so I suspect that the hot fix has created a general problem I've just validated files and reacquired in case that was the problem and moves that were working fine before aren't now. Anybody else experiencing this? Cheers, Jon
Hi, I've also been finding the path finding rather wonky as the pathfinder tries to use hyperlanes even when quite inappropriate. Incidentally, if you're stupid or rather inobservant enough to build a hyperlane too near a black hole as I've just been then pieces may get immobilised when you try to move them past the blockage. Obviously I can fiddle around with this but a mild pain. Would it be possible to have a pathfinder function on the map so that before
Hi, If you're lucky enough to have the "Motivational Helix" on a high production planet (and a soupcon of thulium) then you can generate charges of 500 production for 3 Thulium repeatedly which means that big ships can be rushed in new shipyards. Cheers, Jon
Working as intended, some Artifacts have repeatable upgrades.
Thanks Rhonin, If so it's over powered. Once the planet is set up then it's 3 Thulium per turn for 2000 shipyard production anywhere you like - so if you capture a planet you can rush a shipyard for 600 and then get a huge ship the next turn. MindlessMe you might like to consider redressing the balance somehow - please not too drastica
Hi, After a bit over 100 turns I can study the Motivational Helix on my home world apparently without limit. I already have 59 charges stored up so will be able to build huge ships in one move when they become available. Obviously not what was intended. Anybody else? Cheers, Jon
Yes, I have the same problem with the Drath. On the Steam forums, this issue is acknowledged by the developers. Many thanks c4daleks, Good to know that it's a known fault which I presume will be corrected in a future patch. Cheers, Jon
Hi, Surely you should park military units on your hyperlanes - and enemy ones if they're relevant too - to prevent their units from arriving unannounced. it's the same principle as putting units on roads / railways in civ2 (when anybody could use a road/railway in later editions they were only available to the host civ) to curtail enemy movement. Cheers, Jon
Hi, In my latest game in 3.6 as the Drath I've chosen a commander but get the message "not enough room" when i try to add him to fleets. Anybody else and is this known please? Cheers, Jon
Since it’s the Altarians, possible they have a pile of relics and such? They get a ton of research from those via the Ancient trait.
Many thanks ManiiNames, Yes I went into God mode via the console and looked properly and indeed it is the Ancient trait which i hadn't realised was so powerful since I've only ever played the Altarians occasionally and clearly very badly at that. <i
Hi, I'm playing a first game with Retribution on Genius level as the Thalans but benevolent (rather than pragmatic) so as to get a decent colony rush from the top line. Near to the endgame I've got 39 planets and a bit over 1100 research per turn while the Altarians have 32 planets but about 10k
Hi, I tried using a private window and indeed that was fine. But toggling ad blocker made no difference in a regular window. Obviously not at all a big deal since I can use chrome or private opera window. Cheers, Jon
Hi, Obviously I have logged on to post this which I did from Chrome but for some reason with windows10 64 bit the latest version of Opera 58.0.3135.65 gives me an error when I try to log on: 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view th
@lycan371 - Incredible bonuses (moves was reduced by 100%) got rebalanced.
Hi Horemvore, Are you sure? I just started a game at Incredible to see and was able with the hyperdrive specialisation and the government movement +1 (? game not open at the moment is it Imperialism) to get my ships moving 5 hexes. When I first encountered AI ships they all had 15 movement! Cheers, Jon
Hi, Just a couple of points. As others have said, you need to ramp up the difficulty to keep it fun. I personally play on Genius but with tech brokering disabled - which makes it much easier to keep the economy going in the early stages when you're selling techs to the AI to keep afloat and also slows them down generally. At higher levels, the early AI colony ships are appreciably faster than yours which makes the colonisation battle much harder - I don't like going abov
Sorry obviously DisableDLC (not DCL)
Many thanks Sean, I see that it worked perfectly okay for you. I've been having problems posting screen shots here but not in an email so am replying to your email with a save and some screen shots. The other users on the forum didn't have this problem or at least none that I know of. If anybody else would like to pitch in that they are also having this issue that would be helpful. The problem only arises with Crusade enabled (If you use the switch -DisableDCL "Crusade" then the battl
You're very welcome. Hi, I realise that planets appear in the colony window in order of founding but wondered out of interest if there's anywhere where you can find out on what turn they were actually settled. Just looked at various screens and couldn't see this. Cheers, Jon
Hi again, I rolled back to 3.1 and it was fine again. Hi again Sean, I'm having real trouble pasting in the image here (take the screen shot and save but when I upload image the colour is all wrong) so I will submit a ticket. Many thanks, Jon
Hi Sean, Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly. It only arose after the upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2. and when I checked earlier saves, the problem was also manifest there. Indeed I had a game as the Free Trandals which worked fine then but the shipyards now all appear distorted. So I imagine that some graphical object has got lost or distorted in a file and the code uses a black square when it can't decide what else to do as a shipyard changes siz
No Rebooted and still the same black squares. Presumably some pointer has got misdirected or a file has been produced missing some graphics elements.
