Sorry, to clarify I was the long post by Naselus above.

I second this. In my own post earlier I was trying to make the point rather less forcefully. But the bottom line is that if a game has a good feature but the AI can't use it then there should be an attempt to code it to do so (which obviously will take time and effort but is what the players are hoping to get): rather than having the feature removed so that we humans don't have the option and the poor darlings can compete with smaller bonuses.
Frogboy, This has the potential to become a splendid game but it seems a great shame that you'seem so determined to remove a feature (the wheel) which is fiddly but one of the most interesting features: though certainly if you provide tools to simplify the usage as I gather is happening in 1.3 then that's most welcome. I don't understand at all why it's "against the spirit of the game". Beating any game when the AI is given sufficient bonuses is difficult
Hi, I agree wholeheartedly that the important thing is to improve the AI not to give it ludicrous bonuses. This isn't an easy process at all of course and I wasn't expecting when I bought GC3 that it would be much more than a good beta - which it could be suggested it still is. The tweaking that SD have been introducing from update to update is obviously well intended but can have unintended consequences. And the recent hiking of killer tech values in 1.2 has st
Hi, I've been working my way gently through the races not at a v high level (genius) and just started playing the Iconians under version 1.2 After the opening, I've currently got 177 research/turn (as it stands - obviously I could play with the planets to optimise this) and these values in the tech tree: Under Engineering Interstellar Logistics 6 turns but Zero Gravity Construction 16 Under warfare Pulse cannons 10
I think it would be absurd to remove the wheel - it's one of the real pleasures of the game that you can specialise. But in certain circumstances you do want to override the local settings - for instance if you're getting short of cash; and indeed if you go to negative gold then it forces you to go to 100% gold on all planets till you're positive again and then restores everything. It would be nice if you could click to override but then later click
Many thanks, Jon
Hi, I'm playing with 1.1 and the Krynn Tourism tech is still costing much more than other ones on that tier which I presume is an input error and will be corrected in a patch at some point. When I opened the .xml file: C:|Program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\data\Game\krynntechdefs.xml on my system it showed for KrynnKrynnTourismTech that the 390</ResearchCost&g
Hi, I understand that improving the interface will be a huge task but thought that the developers might consider a few things in the interim in the next patch. Perhaps people will have other suggestions for priorities: Ship list Since transports and constructors are the most crucial items to get to a war zone apart from the military hardware (invasion, putting targets within range and replacing star bases which have been razed before an annoying ally does) perhaps we c
Many thanks Gaunathor, I realised that this was in reaction to my megalomania but wasn't sure whether it was permanent or if I could have done something - presumably spent lots of gold - at the time. Well yes I will disable megaevents next time. It doesn't seem to me that this one - or I see there can be hordes of space pirates too(?) greatly improve things. I find randomness in games pretty irritating, at least to this extent. Cheers, Jon<
Hi, I guess this is right place to post if not apologies. I'm new to this excellent game and after a couple of tries was grinding happily through an influence victory (at Normal) when I got a random event and went from 77% of the board to about 3% in a few turns. Is this a bug or a feature and if the latter can the event be disabled? Thanks, Jon </p
Hi I'm not sure if this is right forum for technical issues if not apologies. I've just started playing Galactic Civ 2 after years of far too much Civ 4 and it seems a lovely game but I'm having problems with the interface. The main thing that happens is that after playing for a while the main map starts to drift of its own accord. It will stop if you hold down a mouse button (I think either but certainly the left) but continues moving when this is rele
