Hhmmmmm...maybe a "misc "images" gallery could work...one that would include both png & ico formats...especially since IconDeveloper can easily (if obtusely) convert between the 2. the real problem however, is that there are WAY too many images that should be packages. Kinda "thinking" out loud here...
Brokensquare
.ICOs should NOT be allowed in the ObjectDock gallery. That's what the misc icons gallery is FOR, folks! I have no problem w/ the same image as a png & and icon...I use png exclusively, but judging from my download counts, more people seem to use the icon versions...so I make png for myself & others like me, and icons for the majority - that's ca
Correction...should you happen to want to add icons directly to an existing package, use IconPackager Explorer...pick the theme to add to...Edit->add icon..then pick the icon you want to add...
You can edit the package by just changing the icon you want to change from inside IP, then resave the package...but I don't know of any way to add icons to an existing package w/o using them for SOMETHING...even as a subpackage, they would have to be applied to SOMETHING...hopefully I am understanding you correctly?
Not at all sure how I missed this thread before...But I agree w/ WG - browsing through the OD gallery for dock backgrounds can be frustrating...I would very much like to see a OD background gallery! One other thought WG & Messiah(since you two are so good at backgrounds), I'd sure like to see more "generic" dock backgrounds, as opposed to matching a WB skin...I personally get tired of every windowblind I try quickly, and just find myself changing to another one WAY too often...kinda cuts back on
Wow...I thought I was the only one who wondered why individual icons/png's that SHOULD be part of a package are quickly overwhelming every other submission!
No, it will not ever stop being YOUR fault...just wait 'til he (or she?) is YOUR kid...as in, "do you know what YOUR son did at school today?!" (been ambushed w/ THAT one a time or two!) Can't relate to the epidural thing tho
Well heck, 'po...you already have all you need to know -"yes dear"! My memory of our boy's birth 5 years ago...wife's 3rd child, my 1st, so no need for epidural, as I suggested (what do I know?)...short labor - 4 hours...brushing her hair from her sweaty forehead while telling her to "breathe, hon"...her telling ME "don't *@#%ing touch me - you should be the one doing this" (reminding her at this time of her refusal of the epidural was NOT a good idea...) and then they "cut" her...ugh..
Been using the test pages since they were released to us, but have noticed 1 thing...on my personal skins page, there is no longer a total # of comments at the bottom. At first, I figured it was just because it was a "test" page, but as of this posting, it is still not giving me a total. I always checked that column for new comments! Or...am I just missing another way to view this?
Oh no! Not Luna (ugh - looks like my five year old designed it!)...I meant literally the old school style...ie 98 style...I know, I know...but it works for me, and never does "weird" things! I'd be lost w/o my ObjectDock+, though! I haven't seen my taskbar or start menu in years. A shame that tab launchpad(or whatever it was called) has suffered a sad death! Doesn't even show up in SDCentral anymore...and ObjectBar has simply NEVER worked right. I use OD+, IP & DX exclusively!
Congratulations! I thought you WERE a mod already...see you alot in the forums!
Actually, you're the master! Should you feel the wild desire I'd request a tabbed dock to match the Windows "standard" look, and maybe an XP blue version as well. Windowblinds always bores me, so I find myself going back to standard often! I just think that there are WAY too many docks designed to match blinds, but they are only useful until you change WB... If your up to it and have time, these would be GREATLY appreciated...but if not, I will certainly keep an eye out for
Somewhere, not all that long ago, I thought I saw a good article on how to create OD backgrounds, but can't seem to find it anymore...anyone have any idea?
Thanks for the article, Zoomba...having spent alot of time at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital (with alot more coming over the years), I have seen many children ALOT worse off than my son...a few of whom I will never forget. Hospitals(even children's hospitals) are cold and impersonal places.
Not something I can say with confidence, but I doubt WB5 has anything to do with it...I have been running alot of SD apps for a long time with few problems, but I have never had any luck with litestep ( or nextstart, for that matter). I CAN say that I have noticed that windows defender can get a little goofy and hoggish...anytime my machine seesm slow, I can shut it(defender)down and all problems go away, so that might be a place to start...anyone from SD have any info re: apps w/ windows defend
Since I can't recall if have ever posted a forum w/ this issue, we'll start now! I have OD+ 1.5 I run 2 monitors (19" & 17") both @ 1280x1024 res. I have always noticed that docks at the top and bottom will run over to the other monitor while zoomed...everything works fine, and it isn't hindering anything, but...I just find it goofy! half of me argues that since I have a 2560x1024 desktop, there is nothing to hold the zoom effect onto the current monitor, but the other half says wel
Ooops! wasn't done! Just be careful with syscmd...if you accidently click logoff or shutdown, there is no stopping it! I tend to use the shutdown dialog for restart, logff, and power options...
I'm with Zubaz...syscmd is an excellent docklet! I am currently running 5 docks, one of which is solely dedicated to different functions of syscmd - 6 different functions(right click to change the functions). Just search "syscmd" under docklets. Go - get it now!
Seems MUCH faster for me...I may even use the zoom effects now! In just playing around with the effects, it seems that the problem w/dual monitors has been "worked around", if not solved. The docks would always spill over to my 2nd monitor on mouseovers, but with width adjustment now available, I have more control - which is good! I thought I was pretty slick a couple years ago after figuring out to simply drop the address bar icon onto the
Revised: search the web works...but no mail or RSS news...
I seem to be having a problem w/ OB2 connecting to the internet to gather info(ie. news, weather, mail, etc.)...It does not even appear to attempt to connect...I have changed firewall settings to allow it(although it never tried!), but no luck?!? Anyone with any ideas?
I was lucky to get backed up what I did...kinda happened quickly.
No...
Yes, I redownloaded SDCentral and reinstalled all apps throught it...
Sure, sounds right!
