Yeah I've been a customer for 12 years I know the deal. And yes it is called for, since that is their policy. As soon as you tell them you're running Windows Insider version they lock you out of support for your issue. I'm not gonna argue if/when you reply that it is a reasonable position to take when a customer asks for help. I would argue back that today's Insider version is tomorrow's release version -- so they're gonna have to support it sooner th

Running the 2.6 beta -- today Start11 began returning Outlook contact records in response to alpha characters entered in the search bar. So if I type an "A" which should return "AdvancedRun" instead it returned "Accredo" whifh is a contact record in MS Outlook. Performed clean reinstall of Start11, and also issued a rebuild command to the indexer in Windows. Same behavior.

At this point it is now clearly on their radar - the problem is obvious and can be demonstrated at will. They will do something about it when they choose to. p.s. Update: it took 40 seconds for the system to ingest this reply.

Start11, for instance, does not require any authentication before download. The "free trial" version is no different from the paid version - licensing is handled later. Like a lot of tech people (myself included), they are overcomplicating a trivial matter -- you buy some space on someone's CDN and you park your files there..

I actually finally got it the conventional way. Not sure what setup Stardock is using, but their downloads on a good day are slow as molasses by today's standards.

Anyone else wondering why you can't mouse-over one of your shortcut folders along the right side of the start menu and have that folder open its subfolders when set for "Display as a menu". I find it really counter-intuitive to have to click on a folder name to activate it to bring up its sub-menu of items. If I'm missing something please tell me, otherwise I need to file this as a suggestion :)

I use auto-hide. Frequently the taskbar does not hide, but there are no buttons/icons visible on the left side of the taskbar though the time, etc is present on the right. Hovering the mouse over the left end of the taskbar causes the start button/icons to reappear. See attached graphics. Don't know if this is a Start11 problem or not. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/53/34/5334378/0f41ef4c-fc6a-4089-a16d-553c16a2b03d.jpg" alt="" w

Running 1.24 on Insider Dev build - I use auto-hide taskbar enabled. Sometimes the taskbar is not hidden but has no pinned icons on it, it's blank - if I hover the mouse over where the icons should be then they appear. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/53/34/5334378/2797e03a-3b02-4fef-a59a-1f7875d96233.jpg" alt="" width="800" h

Hi. Just installed Windows Insider Dev build 22616 -- my taskbar went TRANSPARENT! I notice there's a setting in Start11 that mentions this but it's grayed out along with the comment "not currently supported on this prerelease...". It's sorta cool, but would like to be able to work with it now that it's here. Thanks! /jim

When I open a command prompt window by clicking the Start button and then typing "CMD " into the search pane, the console window that opens does NOT get keyboard focus - characters typed end up on the search pane. If I click on Start again and start typing characters, they do NOT appear on the search pane - they just go into the bit bucket. If I open and close the Start Menu 3-4 times then the search pane starts to accept characters again.

Upon wake from sleep, the icons on the taskbar sometimes don't work -- I can click on the Start button and the start menu appears, but none of the other icons I have pinned to the taskbar work. Ending and restarting Explorer.exe resolves. When in the "not working" state, although the start button makes the start menu appear, the button is not "animated" - the button doesn't display a visual reaction to the mouse activity upon it.
