Patriotism has NEVER been about slaughtering innocent children in a Russian school, Marco. And it is NOT true that "Americans" believe this. I am one, and I do NOT believe in the legitimacy of murder for political means. So now you've found at least one who defies your sweeping generalizations. The fact that you find the a

Didn't Bush say in the debates of 2000 that we should never participate in "nation building", which is what is being done in Iraq right now. This was his reasoning for not agreeing to send troops into Rhowanda. He also said the only reason we would ever go into Iraq is if they were building nuclear bombs, which wasn't happening.

Yes, Hussein was a bad man, but we could've solved this by working with our allies, and working with the U.N. and NATO to solve this problem. Deaniac, Which allies specifically should we have "worked" with that we had not already made numerous attempts with? Germany, France, and Russia we

I agree with most of the points made here but I think that a majority of people still do recognize the positive contributions to women and society that "feminists" and their organizations have made. Having said that, there is a radical aspect to feminism. The few that embrace it to the extreme have made it more difficult for the rest to get the recognition they deserve. They get labeled as"man haters" and "fema-nazi's) with superiority complexes bec

It's interesting how we humans always seem to gravitate to the extreme. Turkey is attempting to criminalize adultry, which I assume would carry rather harsh penalties, and in many areas of the US there is no stigma attached at all........in fact it's glorified.

WOW CygnusXII you really take your media players seriously......maybe a bit too seriously. I'm sure you have legit reasons for hating WMP 10 based on what you require of it. I can't speak for others but it rips and burns my tunes just fine, plays my mp3's, DVD's, and transfers to my portable with ease, organizes my media quite nicely and has a new slick look......and I love the Energy Bliss visual. One thing that really ticks me off about it though - it failed to balance my checkbook damm

I'm curious. Are you attempting to draw a distinction between Bush and Kerry here? For those of us that are not prepared to become the type of country that you describe here, what is our alternative?......Kerry? The same Kerry that has done everything in his power to silence the voices of all the Vietnam vets that do not support him? The same Kerry that attempts to discourage book stores from selling a book that does not show him favor (whil

Frogboy, In your "wrong way" example I would have to totally agree with your sentiments. There is nothing constructive there, nor would you be inclined to give it a second thought based on it's malicious nature. Thats one for the delete key. I was thinking more along the lines of a "user" that was becoming somewhat annoying with a multitude of questions to issues that he/she could easily resolve if the documentation was even skimmed. Some people need to be spoon fed to get the

"Just because you think someone who USES your stuff is as much a customer as someone who pays for your stuff doesn't make you right. You are entitled to your opinion but I don't agree with it. Someone who USES your stuff is a user. But they're not a customer. There is a difference" Frogboy......WOW do really believe that? I would expect that concept to discourage growth of your customer base. I agree that there is an obvious difference in the level of support or even an obligation to any

After reading this article I found myself instantly sympathetic based on my own very similar experience. Having said that, I also know that it is human nature to want things to be bigger, better, faster, brighter, cheaper, easier, etc., etc.. All this while criticizing the mannor in which you provide it - regardless of the price. It's been my experience that a majority of the "customers" are very appreciative of good quality products and services. Of course, there will always be a mi

I started using 1.9q and realized that IconX was gone so I got IconX now that it is a separate item. I decided to wait till DX 2.2 and loaded it tonight. It reintegrated IconX into it's config settings and wiped out all my IconX settings. Now I can't set any IconX settings without it going back to default. I unloaded DX 2.2 and IconX is independent again and my settings are back??

Well said bud! I find it an absolute smear campaign by the right wing designed to discredit a decorated veteran who happens to disagree with their political view points. It is shameful, in my opinion - but they must feel it is effective because it worked so well against Max Cleland in GA. I suppose then

Yrgal Thanks for the link. Is there a difference between purchasing Object Desktop and gradually purchasing each app seperately over time? I have just about all apps from OD except Skin Studio and now, of course, IconX. Is that why it does not show up in my Stardock Central? I'm a bit bummed that I have to pay $10 more now to have IconX when I used to get it thru DesktopX. I really don't mind paying for it as I've payed more than $49.95 for what I already have and consider it a more

-vf Thanks for the tips. Wow! you were right about the need to defrag after SP2 install. It made a major difference. I have the latest catalyst drivers for my ATI card and also for the Audigy 2 so I assume I'm good there. I noticed that DesktopX 2.19q[b].002 was made available today so I installed that and it is much better (the "about" tab crash is fixed now too). I noticed that the DesktopX configuration menu shows up now after every reboot. I'm not knowledgeable enough yet to create

I usually believe that questioning anyone's service to their country is at best, a field full of landmines and a rather underhanded strategy to question a persons honor and integrity. Over the past few weeks I've researched as much information as I could find on the four months of service in which Kerry received all his medals and his conduct after his return. I've read Kerry's books, "The New Soldier" and "A Call to Service". I've read the full tra

I recently did a clean install of XP Pro and installed SP2. Almost everything appeared to be funtioning properly so I opened Stardock Central and starting my installs. I loaded DesktopX 1.9 beta and that was a disaster. Most of my objects and widgets did not work or crashed DX all together. Even ing the "about" button caused a DX crash. I also noticed that IconX was gone. Is that supposed to be gone? I removed it and decided to wait for DX 2.2. ObjectDock Plus 1.04 build 470 is not work

I've heard thousands of horror stories from both sides of the fence. Both men and women can be rude and offensive in bars - especially when overly intoxicated. I've actually had women ask me how much money I make and the type of car I drive before they even know my name! I would add Corporate Whores to Bar Sluts as appropriate names for ALL dirtbags that give bars a bad name.
