Awesome, totally agree. Two requests: 1) Hoping you'll consider nerfing monster and non armored archers/mages when defending against melee attacks (they take SO long to kill) - it seems ridiculous that they defend as well as non archers (if not better sometimes). Maybe a defense penalty when attacked by melee and double when attacked by mounted units, etc. 2) And of course I'd love to see terrain bonuses (or penalties like attacking across a river) so mods could

3 things: 1) Enemy Archers/Mages/Catapults are like tanks - they should go down more like butter when attacked by melee and units on horse. Something is off in tactical that makes it feel frustrating with regards to their defense. Also - some cover (take less damage) against archery (woods) or cavalry (crossing a gulley), etc. 2) Make Terrain count for something. Maybe better defense in hills, or archers suffer penalty in woods, rivers show up in tactic
I don't use roll-up too often - but what I would love to see in it's place (or in addition) is this: 1) I set up a folder portal 2) I set it to a small size (like 8 - 10 documents showing). I set up like 6 more in a tile like formation. 3) I double click on title bar of any one of these small windows and it goes the full vertical length of the screen. Then when I'm done - I simply double click again to return it to it's original small size. Th
A couple of points here: 1) I'm a huge Stardock fanboy. I own most of their games. I will always support them and pre-purchase to reward them for being a great company. Great games, awesome employees/owner who are always listening and actually take responsibility for mistakes (e.g. free upgrade path when they delivered a bad game). They are always polite and listen to our suggestions/complaints. They pour their hearts and soul into the game because they lov
Scott and Brad, I've reported this a number of times on this forum but because you guys seem to be reading this, I thought I'd ask here. I have had repeatable CTDs (and an occasional shut-my-machine down event) that just makes the game unplayable for me (reported to tech support [#EUX-824-48658]). My question is - I have a fairly new video card. Does anyone there have an Nvidia GTX-970? It's a popular card but I'm thinking
I've been having crashes for the past few versions (including this build). I've even (rarely) had a shut-the-machine down crash (after a loud noise). Most of the time (every 4 or 5 battles) it says "dx error" then crashes to desktop. Mostly in tactical - particularly when I hover over an ability bottom at the bottom left. Sadly, I can't finish a game (the final SK battle consistently crashes - I tried it 7 times in a row). Sent info to tech
i5, 16G ram, W8.1, brand new GTX-970. It happens on my machine with Fallen Enchantress too. I play a lot of different games (CIV V, Witcher 3, skyrim modded), etc. and nothing ever shuts down my video card. It happens every time I play (1 out of every 4 or 5 tactical battles). I sent 2 reports to tech support.
I disagree with OP in general. On normal, I feel my heroes are doing fine damage. On hard, I have trouble winning. I think that's the way it should be.
Still seeing the same as well in 5.4. My game crashes with a DX error every few tactical battles (already reported to support).
1) It still crashes (though less often) with a "DX error" to the desktop. Still doesn't play well with my Nvidia card (I reported this to tech support directly). Stock card not overclocked. 2) One of the magic items (a gauntlet called the "fists of the sun" I think), came up with a blank icon right after I enchanted it. It was equipped at the time.
I can confirm this bug. Very annoying.
There is a BIG problem with this game (SK Beta 5.2 opt-in) and my video card. I've been playing Fallen Enchantress waiting for the latest BETA (to keep me busy). Because it's heavily modded, I never bother to report bugs for FE. But here is what happens: I'm playing and suddenly the screen just goes blank (I would say twice an hour or so on average). I wait awhile and it goes to my desktop, and then SOMETIMES it comes back to the game.
Yes, That may be it. It was a custom sovereign. Thanks for looking into it. I really enjoyed the mod. - Mozo
Quick Q. Enjoyed the mod, thanks for your hard work on this. I did have one problem - I had a stack of 6 champions and they ALL got bribed in one turn (including me - aka my sov.). Is this a bug or an intended feature? Needless to say the game was over (I had 2 militia in one of my cities). Thanks, Mozo
I'm coming here late but I have to say, Heart Shaped Man's post just really struck me - that is exactly how I feel. I get bored once I've established my empire and the quests are done. I have been playing these fantasy games for hours every day (AOW3 most recently) and something has been bugging me that I just didn't quite get. &nbs
None of these are very unique points, just supporting some of the stuff I read. I love this game but I don't keep coming back to it like I do CIV. Someone said something about "no hard choices". I feel that but can't explain it well. Here are some things I heard or thought about: 1) Ranged combat should reduce damage/accuracy the farther away it is. LOS rules should apply too so you can use cover, etc. 2) Heroes are too random (though I
Late in the game, I hit end turn and it just hangs forever (at least 5 minutes). Before this turns were taking no more than 7 seconds or so. I have "use no mods" selected. Here is the error file: http://pastebin.com/u/Mozo293 . Thanks, Mozo
Hey all. I too am crashing late game. I have started a new game in 1.4. I do have all the DLCs installed but I have "use mods" not selected. Very frustrating. Spent hours invested in this game. Mozo
I really like the OP's ideas. Especially the dagger and Mace suggestions. Mozo
[never mind - I misunderstood UI. I thought red money meant it was negative cash. Maybe a suggestion to reconsider that.]
Great ideas OP - and a maintenance cost for the outpost is such an easy change. Mozo
Wow - some really good ideas here! I hope Brad and co. are reading... Mozo
Agreed with OP. I'm on "challenging" on 0.91 and once I got an awesome sword from easy quest (and 3 heroes all about 8th level), I just steamrolled two opponents with little to no effort. The AI just doesn't seem capable of defending well at all. Mozo
I love the hospital idea too - with a chance to remove a negative trait. We need more reasons to leave heroes in cities - and make the player feel torn between deciding whether to leave them there or not.
Love number #2 and #3 by OP. All ideas are good. Mozo
