I split my cable with a standard coax splitter and run one cable into my digital cable box, and the other into my tv tuner card. Using the WinTV software that came with the card, I can watch one channel on my TV and another on my PC. true..however you only get what the cable company broadcasts as 'local channels'. You will not get the 'premium'

All the major card manufacturers make a video card model with a tv tuner on the card. Most do support digital. If that's a digital box, then it will throw the same picture up on your PC as it does on your TV. As far as the 'box' is concerned, if you don't have it in the same room and attached only to the computer, you're going to have to go to where the box is to change it. In any case, there is no card or software that will allow you to watch one channel on the TV and another on the PC.

ok feline.....can only come up with one thought...this has to be a hardware problem. It might be that you did nothing wrong and it is one of those 'things'. If you're not getting a post there's a chance your mobo is shot. If you are getting a post and it stops, it's probably a card. Try one more thing ...remove all your PCI cards and leave the AGP card in. Try to boot. If it doesn't, try another AGP card. If it does boot you can easily determine which card it is. There is a slim chance j
feline- if you flashed your bios or made adjustments to it...go back in and make sure your bios is set to AGP and not PCI. That should make your card show up. If your machine doesn''''t boot and you removed card while the computer was still plugged in ,you may have a fried card. For what it''''s worth I use a FX5900 and have no problems at all with it. I paid way too much for it....but then again I'''
Jafo must be at the races this weekend....'recormend'????
feline - well, after 2 days of playing around to find out what happened to my DVD and losing video play in Media Player here's what I came up with. If you don't have either of these installed , then it's not your problem (and you can stop reading ). If you have RealPlayer installed, un-install it. If you have Netscape installed, un-install it (it has a RealPlayer plug-in attached to it and the bro
here's an old, but good write up on the 8500 http://www.guru3d.com/review/ati/radeon8500/ ...you might want to look at your DirectX version. I've read that 9.0 can play havoc with games using a card that doesn't support it <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powere
